2022 BMW 2 Series Arrives In PH For P3.690M

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is now in the Philippines, and it's being sold in one variant called the 220i M Sport.

The all-new 2022 BMW 2 Series Coupe has finally reached the Philippines after making its global debut last year. The all-new 2 Series Coupe now rides on BMW’s Cluster Architecture (CLAR) that’s shared with the rest of the BMW lineup, including the 4 Series, Z4, 5 Series, 3 Series, among other BMWs.

Styling-wise, the all-new 2022 BMW 2 Series thankfully doesn’t inherit the giant kidney grilles found in the 4 Series or its M4 high-performance sibling. Upfront, the 220i M Sport that’s being sold here has a grille that is much more conventional, which is then flanked by a pair of adaptive LED headlights. The sides of the all-new 2 Series have wider shoulders than before, and this is further evident when you look at the vehicle from the rear. There are also a new pair of LED taillights and a trunk lid with an integrated spoiler design.

The migration to the new platform gives the 2 Series a 12 percent increase in rigidity, while the wider track gives the 2 Series better grip while cornering. There’s also a new suspension with more aluminum components for reduced unsprung weight.

Inside, the all-new 2022 BMW 2 Series adopts a familiar styling cue that’s almost the same as the 3 Series and 4 Series. It’s no bad thing though since the air of familiarity makes the interior easy to use. In addition, the all-new interior layout addresses the previous model’s shortcoming, which is the less than stellar interior materials and quality. As for features, an analog gauge cluser and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen for the iDrive 7 is fitted as standard, and it comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The engine range of the 2022 BMW 2 Series in the Philippines is only in the form of the 220i M Sport, which is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that produces 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque. This powertrain drives the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic.

The 2022 BMW 2 Series is now on sale in the Philippines for P3,690,000 for this sole 220i M Sport variant.
