2023 Honda Civic Type R Gets A Range Of Official Accessories

It’s only been a few days since the 2023 Honda Civic Type R made its world debut, and yet the Japanese automaker is already showcasing the accessories that customers can avail of when they order the Civic Type R. Branded under Honda Access, the automaker’s accessories division for Japan and Asia Pacific, these add ons give the Civic Type R’s exterior and interior a bit of added individuality.

Starting with the range of accessories for its exterior, there are surprisingly only two to choose from. The first one is a carbon fiber rear wing that not only looks better than the stock wing, but it also provides two functional benefits. The carbon fiber wing is 1 kg lighter than the standard wing, plus it provides greater downforce.

The second exterior accessory is an even more minor one, and this comes in the form of red exterior mirror caps. The red paint supposedly matches the Civic Type R’s red brake calipers and red Type R emblems. Topping off the exterior accessories range is a “Eurohorn” as well as a clear film for the front and rear bumper, as well as its side sills to protect the paintwork from stone chips.

Surprisingly, it’s the interior of the 2023 Honda Civic Type R that gets a comprehensive range of accessories. Make your Civic Type R’s interior stand out even more with the available carbon fiber panels for the center console and door trims. It uses the same manufacturing method as the carbon fiber wing, but with the addition of a red polyester weave for an even more distinct look.

Other interior accessories include an aluminum shift knob wrapped in red leather, special red floor mats, LED lights for the trunk and various places in the interior, and a wireless charging pad. LED exterior puddle lighting also seems to be a thing these days, as the new Civic Type R even gets this as an accessory. The puddle lamps display the Type R logo when the doors are opened, and this will definitely match with the available illuminated door sill plates.

If you want one for yourself, you’d be sad to find out that this is only available in Japan for now. The accessories will go on sale simultaneously when the hot hatch goes on sale in Japan this September, with pricing to be announced closer to its on-sale date.
