The next-generation Ford Mustang will make its debut on September 14 at the North American International Auto Show, which is only less than a month away from today. The Mustang is the world’s best-selling two-door sports coupe, and Ford isn’t going to rest on its laurels as they surely want to continue that streak in this all-new model.
No details have yet been revealed yet regarding the next-generation Ford Mustang, but reports say that its engines will be a carry-over from the current sixth-generation model. This means that you can expect the 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder that produces 286 hp and 450 Nm of torque as well as the GT’s 5.0-liter V8 that produces 460 and 569 Nm of torque.
However, in the case of the GT, its V8 engine saw its power and torque decrease for the 2022 model year in North American markets. In response to stricter emissions, the GT now produces 10 hp and 10 Nm less. This will most likely be the case for the next-generation model as well.
The next-generation Ford Mustang will debut through the brand’s launch event called ‘The Stampede’. With thousands of invited Mustang faithful, Ford employees, and global media in attendance, The Stampede is set to kick off the launch of the seventh-generation Mustang.
“Mustang is the world’s best-selling sports car because there’s one for everyone – from an EcoBoost convertible to 5.0-liter V8 GT fastback coupe,” said Jim Farley, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Ford Motor Company. “Now it’s time to for a new stampede of owners, fans, and employees to welcome the next chapter in Mustang’s legacy – the seventh generation, which will be our best yet.”
For Mustang fans who will not be in Detroit, The Stampede will be broadcast live on social channels, including Ford YouTube and the Ford Mustang Facebook page.
The outgoing 2022 Ford Mustang is currently being offered with generous promos and discounts when you visit the Ford Island Conquest test drive event at Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, on August 26 to 28. The all-new Ford Everest and Ranger are also there for you to experience first hand.
