It’s been a long time coming, but we’re finally getting the 2023 Nissan Livina here in the Philippines. First making its global debut in Indonesia back in 2019, the Livina is now essentially a three-year-old vehicle. But hey, it’s better late than never, right?
If the 2023 Nissan Livina looks very familiar to you, that’s because it’s based on the Mitsubishi Xpander–the pre-facelifted model to be precise. This means that it doesn’t come with the same aesthetic and suspension upgrades as the Xpander that’s currently sold in the Philippines right now. This is evident from its rear end as the taillight housings have the same shape (albeit a different graphical design) as the pre-facelift Xpander. The sides are also similar, but the front end is Nissan’s own V-Motion face carved into the face of the Xpander.
As for the interior, the 2023 Nissan Livina is still utilizing the curved dash design of the pre-facelift Xpander. Expect features such as a 7-inch touch screen infotainment system, smart entry with push-button start, leather seats, and 12-volt outlets, just to name a few.
The Nissan Livina will share the same engine as the Xpander, which means it will use Mitsubishi’s 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 104 hp and 141 Nm of torque. Power is sent through the front wheels via a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The 2023 Nissan Livina will make its local debut on September 6, while its public debut will most likely happen at the upcoming Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), which will run from September 15 to 18.
