United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) has used the 8th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) to showcase its newest variant of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro flagship SUV. The new variant is called the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T, and it’s positioned between the base 1.6T and the PHEV.
Let’s start with the most obvious change–its drivetrain. The Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T is powered by a new 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 254 hp and 390 Nm of torque. The engine features Chery’s second-generation i-HEC combustion technology, which allows for better thermal efficiency. This is then sent through all four wheels via a wet 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
As for its design and features, the Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T pretty much carries over the same features as the rest of the range, though the final specs have not yet been confirmed. Expect features such as a leather interior (albeit in black), LED ambient lighting, power-adjustable front seats, a digital gauge cluster, a powered tailgate, and a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an 8-speaker Sony sound system.
Outside, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T looks similar to the rest of the lineup as well, though that’s not necessarily a bad thing since the automaker has specced their SUV to the brim with tons of amenities. These include full LED exterior lighting, two-tone 18-inch wheels, roof rails, just to name a few.
Pricing for the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro 2.0T is also not yet final, but the automaker is pegging it to be at the P2.1 million mark. If you want to see this flagship SUV in person, visit Chery’s booth at PIMS, which runs from today until September 18.
