Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has finally brought in the new 2023 Isuzu Mu-X. Receiving a facelift for this year, the changes made to the Mu-X are very subtle, but these are still welcome changes to make it competitive with the likes of the new Ford Everest.
For the 2023 Isuzu Mu-X’s exterior changes, these are highlighted by its new two-tone smoked grille as opposed to the pre-facelift’s chrome finish, while the top-of-the-range LS-E models now come with a new design for its 20-inch wheels. In addition, LS-E variants now have a new color to pick from, which is called Norwegian Blue. This replaces the pre-facelift model’s brown hue as well. On the upside, white is now available for the LS-E 4×4.
Apart from these aesthetic changes, the 2023 Isuzu Mu-X LS-E variants now come with a foot sensor for the powered tailgate. And that’s actually pretty much it in terms of changes. Oh, and Isuzu has also added a new multi-collision braking for its automatic emergency braking. Basically, this feature prevents the vehicle from moving further once the airbags have deployed.
Engine choices for the 2023 Isuzu Mu-X are still the same as before. The LS and LS-A still use a 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo diesel engine that produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque, while optional for the LS-A standard on the LS-E is a 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX turbo diesel that produces 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. A 6-speed automatic is offered as an option only in the LS-A RZ4E, while all other variants get a 6-speed automatic.
“The latest edition of the Isuzu mu-X with its new premium styling and smart features does not compromise the vehicle’s core value of durability, reliability, fuel efficiency and 5-star safety. We think it is this complete package that will truly elevate the driving experience of Filipino families nationwide,” says IPC President Tetsuya Fujita.
