The new 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom has finally landed in the Philippines, continuing the brand’s streak of releasing attractively-designed and well-priced vehicles that we at Go Flat Out PH have loved so much, such as the Empow and GS8. While the pricing of the GS3 Emzoom’s three variants have already been announced a week earlier, this is the first time its distributor, Astara, has revealed the full specs of the vehicle.
There are three variants on sale: GS, GB, and GL. Whichever variant you choose, though, they all adopt a very striking and sporty design that you definitely won’t consider as boring or dull. Just like the bigger Emkoo, the GS3 Emzoom looks like a concept car, only scaled down to a smaller crossover format and in the case of the range-topping GL trim, racy to look at as well.
The GL trim (as pictured) is particularly noteworthy because of its sporty exterior details such as contrasting bright-colored highlights on the grille, bodykit, and even the 19-inch wheels. Lower trims get slightly smaller 18-inch wheels, though you wouldn’t feel bad having these as they still look very nice. The usual exterior LED lighting is also offered as standard, along with flushed door handles that pop out when the car’s unlocked. Lastly, the range-topping GL also gets a powered tailgate, rain sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and a sunroof.
Inside, the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom is just as striking as its exterior. Once again, boring is not an adjective you can attach to its interior, thanks to its modern design and surprisingly, three interior color choices on all variants, namely Blue and Black, Green and Beige, and Camel Brown. that’s provided by the standard 10.25-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay along with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster on GB trims and above. Synthetic leather upholstery, leather steering, a reverse camera, rear USB ports, and automatic climate control become standard on GB trims and above, while the range-topping GL benefits from multi-color ambient lighting, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a six-speaker audio system, just to name a few.
Under the hood of the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom is the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that’s also under the hood of the Empow sports sedan, and if our experience in the Empow (review coming soon) is anything to go by, then this is going to be a hoot of a drivetrain. It produces 174 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque, and this is mated to a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic that drives the front wheels. That’s not all, because if you spec for the range-topping GL, it also comes with an active valve exhaust just like in the Empow GE.
As with most modern cars nowadays, the new GS3 Emzoom comes with a suite of of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) if you splurge for the GL. These features include stuff like Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning. This comes on top of the standard cruise control (on lower variants), parking sensors, and other intelligent systems such as hill start assist, electronic stability control, just to name a few.
Interested? We can’t wait to take this vehicle for a drive and see how it fares against the Geely Coolray. As a recap, these are the prices of the 2024 GAC GS3 Emzoom:
- GS: P998,000
- GB: P1,098,000
- GL: P1,198,000
