After being previewed at the 2023 Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 has officially been launched in the local market. The new Atto 3 serves as BYD’s entry into the compact SUV segment, which, as you would expect from the brand, it is a purely electric vehicle (EV). It’s also priced quite aggressively, starting at just P1,598,000, making it the most affordable electric crossover you could buy.
So, what do you get for P1,598,000 (or P1,798,000 for the range-topping Premium)? Well, as standard, you get features such as full LED exterior lighting, 17-inch wheels for the base Dynamic and 18s for the Premium, smart entry with push-button start, and roof rails for the Premium.
Also worth noting is that even the Atto 3 comes with a great number of advanced safety features, such as a reverse camera, and rear parking sensors, while the Premium gets a 360-degree camera and a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, just to name a few.
Inside, the 2024 BYD Atto 3 synthetic leather upholstery, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, BYD’s signature rotating infotainment screen, which is 12.8 inches in size, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six-speaker sound system, while the range-topping Premium gets a panoramic sunroof, and a built-in dashcam.
Powering all variants of the 2024 BYD Atto 3 is a single electric motor that drives the front wheels, which produces 150 horsepower, 310 Nm of torque, and a 0-100 kph time of just 7.3 seconds. Powered by BYD’s proprietary Blade lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery, the Atto 3 Dynamic gets the standard range 49.92 kWh battery that’s good for 430 kilometers based on NEDC testing, while the Premium gets the long range 60.48 kWh battery that’s good for 520 kilometers–also based on the NEDC cycle.
