JMC (Jiangling Motors Corporation) is aiming to have a slice of the pickup segment with the upcoming JMC Grand Avenue. This upcoming addition to the JMC family is not just a pickup, but in the words of JMC, it’s also a “powerhouse, flaunting competitive advantages that make it the biggest in its class.”
The JMC Grand Avenue gives a robust first impression with its boxy profile. I mean, pickups are mostly boxy, but the new Grand Avenue is a lot more angular than its rivals. JMC is also proud to highlight that this pickup stands as one of the largest in its class. Its generous load capacity harmoniously coexists with a commitment to providing unparalleled comfort and expansive space for passengers.
Inside the pickup, the driver and passengers are greeted by the Grand Avenue’s elegant interior layout. The vehicle is also confirmed to arrive with generous features, such as a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, leather upholstery, and smart entry with push-button start, just to name a few.
JMC distributor Astara has not yet confirmed the Philippine-spec Grand Avenue, apart from the fact that it’s going to get a turbo diesel engine. Checking the spec sheet of the global market Grand Avenue, what we’ll most likely get is a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine that produces 174 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. This is either mated to a Getrag-manufactured six-speed manual or a ZF-manufactured eight-speed automatic (yes, a similar transmission you’d also find in the German luxury cars).
Guided by its commitment to excellence, JMC proudly introduces a groundbreaking Lifetime Engine Warranty. This makes JMC is the sole brand in the country to provide this unparalleled program, solidifying its unwavering commitment not just to delivering powerful vehicles but also to ensuring enduring reliability for the long haul.
Also joining the ranks in the JMC Philippines pickup lineup is the Vigus, a versatile and fuel-efficient daily driver, offering the best value, best suited for business fleet needs. Astara has provided fewer details about the Vigus, but they say that it “provides ample power, delivering performance, space, comfort, and style in a complete and affordable package.”
“We are ready to meet the demand for cutting-edge pickups in the country. The launch of our new models brings better options into the market, offering Filipinos a choice for performance, efficiency, and comfort with the best value for money. Backed by the support of Astara Philippines, JMC is ready to kick off a prosperous journey in the Philippines.” JMC Philippines Brand Head Arlan Reyes shared.
JMC Philippines is set to officially launch its newest lineup of pickups at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) on April 4-7.
