Omoda and Jaecoo, (also branded as O&J) are set to debut the flagship of their lineup. The 2024 Jaecoo 8 serves as the fourth model of the brand and is also their flagship SUV. It’s also a three-row crossover SUV that aims to compete with the likes of the GAC GS8 and to a degree, other three-row unibody crossover SUVs like the Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-8.

At the front of the Jaecoo 8 is a large grille with vertical slats that are flanked by LED headlights. The imposing front grille is complemented by L-shaped elements at each end of the front bumper that further emphasize its width. The side profile of the Jaecoo 8 is then characterized by black roof pillars that give a clean aesthetic, which is further complemented by flushed door handles. Currently in vogue are full-width LED taillights that match the Jaecoo 8’s slightly sloped rear end.
Philippine specs of the 2024 Jaecoo 8 are still unknown at the moment, but the automaker confirmed that it will come with the All Road Drive Intelligent System (ARDIS). According to Jaecoo, ARDIS is a “unique vectorial four-wheel drive control system” that’s capable of real-time rear-wheel torque distribution from 0 to 100% and dynamic adjustment according to road conditions. This enhances vehicle stability, safety, and comfort while significantly boosting off-road capabilities and extrication ability.

Moreover, the J8 is equipped with seven driving modes. Through deep synergy with the four-wheel-drive system, intelligent wire-controlled braking system, electronic steering system, engine, and transmission, the vehicle is able to effortlessly tackle city commutes and traverse special terrains such as sand, mud, and snowfields. Now, as for what powers this midsize crossover SUV, that will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 249 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque, and this is mated to a Getrag-manufactured seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

Jaecoo is also proud to highlight its CDC magnetic levitation suspension, which has significantly enhanced the riding comfort of the J8. Through the precise control of the electromagnetic valve’s opening and closing, the CDC offers millisecond-level adjustment responsiveness. It can timely achieve adaptive adjustment of the suspension’s damping softness and hardness, smoothing out bumps in the road ahead and maximizing comfort.
It must be noted that the Jaecoo 8 is such a new car, the automaker itself doesn’t even have interior photos of the vehicle. However, Jaecoo says that we can expect a “King Size” private sofa front seat, with upholstery being made out of Nappa Leather. Soft-touch materials abound across the premium interior, and there’s even TOM-processed imitation wood, wherein its natural wood-like texture and uniform quality showcase extraordinary style. As for amenities, we can expect a massive 24.6-inch ultra-smooth integrated curved screen, a Sony 14-speaker surround sound system, and 255-color light waterfall-style rhythm atmosphere lighting.
Finally, Jaecoo is also proud of its “540-degree transparent chassis technology”, which combines the 360-degree surround view and 180-degree chassis view to form a 540-degree ultra-wide-angle view. There’s also an augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD), projecting real-time road information ahead of the vehicle, ensures that the driver’s eyes remain on the road, safely navigating every moment.
