The outgoing Nissan Patrol has been on the market for more than 10 years, and that’s old by any measure. Finally, the Japanese automaker is giving us the 2025 Nissan Patrol, the seventh generation of an iconic full-size SUV that has always held a solid fight with the Toyota Land Cruiser.

As it enters a new generation, the 2025 Nissan Patrol carries a design that doesn’t completely rewrite the SUV’s identity. By keeping things evolutionary, the new Patrol builds upon the identity of its predecessor, whilst making it more expressive. There’s an LED headlight stack up front, wherein this is visually connected by a full-width LED light bar. Those LED headlights, which contain Double C-shaped LED daytime running lights, also come with adaptive matrix LED technology. At the sides, the new Patrol has been given a more angular profile, and this is complemented by an available black contrasting roof. Moving towards the rear end, the Patrol contains full-width LED taillights that mirror those at the front.

Moving inside the 2025 Nissan Patrol, the modernity and luxury has improved leaps and bounds. There’s a 28.6-inch horizontal display layout, which is made up of two 14.3-inch screens combined to make up what Nissan calls a “Monolith” display. The Monolith display is running a new version of Nissan’s operating system called NissanConnect 2.0, and it now features Google Built-In that makes it compatible with a host of Google services, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are still available.
Sounds are then played through a 12-speaker Klipsch surround sound system, and further uplifting the interior vibe is the generous lashings of quilted leather, as well as detailing inspired by the Japanese wood craft called Kumiko. Depending on the market and variant, you can even expect features like massaging front seats, and 64-color ambient LED lighting.

Complementing this sensory sophistication, the 2025 Nissan Patrol offers available Biometric Cooling technology. When activated, a built-in infrared sensor detects the body temperature of the front passenger seat and second-row occupants and automatically adjusts airflow settings to provide an intuitive cooling experience. Second-row occupants can also be treated to optional 12.8-inch touch screens for their personal entertainment needs.
Further enhancing the cabin’s appeal is its class-leading roominess, particularly in the second and third rows, making it ideal for families and larger groups. The innovative EZ flex seats facilitate easier access to the third row without removing a child seat, while the 3rd-row power fold and return function offers flexible storage solutions with a touch on the Monolith screen to adapt seamlessly to varying needs.

As with most vehicles these days, the 2025 Nissan Patrol isn’t immune to the downsizing and turbocharging trend. Gone is the 5.6-liter V8, and in its place is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which is likewise a gas-fed engine like the previous engine. This V6 produces 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, which is 25 hp more than the previous V8. This is sent through all four wheels via a new nine-speed automatic transmission.
The new Patrol also improves upon the previous model’s renowned ride and handling balance by introducing e-damper technology for its suspension. The electronic dampers adjust their ride and handling characteristics depending on the driving conditions.

Finally, as for safety, the 2025 Nissan Patrol comes with the ProPILOT semi-autonoumous driver-assistance tech that’s part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility safety suite. ProPILOT combines full-speed adaptive cruise control with lane centering functions that uses navigation data to adjust the vehicle’s trajectory when going through curves or highway interchanges. There’s also a 360-degree camera that now comes with an Ultra-Wide View and Invisible Hood View, which makes this large SUV easier to maneuver.
With its global debut being held in Dubai, the 2025 Nissan Patrol will unsurprisingly hit Middle Eastern markets first, before being sold elsewhere around the globe.
