The current Ford Expedition is now at least six years old, which means it’s a good time to give it a generational change. That’s exactly what they’ve done with this 2025 Ford Expedition as it enters a new generation, packed with more tech as well as fresher looks.

However, just like the current Ford Everest and Ranger, the new generation Expedition isn’t riding on a completely new platform. In fact, if you take a look at its side profile, you can get a whiff of the outgoing generation’s looks. Nevertheless, the front end of the new Expedition is completely new. It dons a bolder front fascia that’s enabled by its wider grille and C-shaped LED daytime running lights that have now become a signature design of Ford’s trucks and SUVs.

Now, as for the rear end, the 2025 Ford Expedition gets a split tailgate just like in the BMW X5 and Range Rover. The tailgate has a black upper section while the lower section matches the car’s color. There are also L-shaped LED taillights and horizontal LED taillight elements. Finally, there’s a new Tremor off-road-focused trim with its orange accents, auxiliary LED lighting on the grille, and underbody protection. Those wheels are wrapped in 33-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires, in which combined with the raised suspension, lead to a 269 mm ground clearance.

The interior of the 2025 Ford Expedition is where the most significant changes happen. There’s a new, horizontal dash design that contains two large screens, and a 13.2-inch main touchscreen that’s powered by the latest Ford Digital Experience Google-based operating system, which means it provides native Google support. The main highlight, however, is the large 24-inch panoramic display that serves as the digital instrument cluster.
Because of this screen layout, the steering wheel now has an oval Peugeot-style steering. There’s also a new Flex Powered Console at the front of the cabin, which can slide 20 cm forward or backward, for easier access to the second row as well as creating extra storage in the front seats. Finally, the aforementioned split tailgate also adds more functionality to the tailgate as it can transform into a table. The added functionality continues with the power outlets at the tailgate that help in powering your devices.
The 2025 Ford Expedition is powered by the same 3.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine, which produces 400 horsepower and 651 Nm of torque, and this is mated to a 10-speed automatic. Tremor and Platinum variants have a higher output of 440 horsepower and 691 Nm of torque.
With the 2025 Ford Expedition now revealed, the full-size SUV segment has become even hotter. Considering the popularity of the Land Cruiser and Patrol, do you think Ford Philippines should offer the Expedition again in our market?
