The BMW X3 has been considered the segment benchmark for compact luxury SUVs for a few years. Pitting it alongside the likes of the Audi Q5 and the Mercedes GLC, being a benchmark doesn’t necessarily mean the best in the segment, but has all the necessary features you should find among its competitors. With updated design, tech, and other features the BMW X3 xDrive20d Business made my long weekend drives luxurious and convenient.

The well-sculpted lines, the kidney grille, and the bold stance of the facelifted 3rd gen X3 make for the unmistakable DNA of German luxury that made sure to invite admiring glances as I pulled up to local establishments and cruised down the highways. Arriving in the X3 strikes a perfect balance between professional finesse and adventurous energy that will captivate those who want to seamlessly blend success with a tinge of life’s many excitements.
Refinement And Performance Beyond Measure

Although a compact SUV in the luxury segment, the X3 has plenty of space for all passengers. This isn’t your 7-seater beast, but it handled all 5 of us like a champ during our long trip. You see, my buddy was having their baby. So along with his wife, mother-in-law, and another friend, we had one of the smoothest and most comfortable trips back and forth, thanks to engineering that’s probably tailored for Germany’s Autobahn.
I don’t venture south of the Metro often, but it was my first time cruising the Star Tollway. And man, was I in for a surprise. The final stretch before the tollway’s end only had 2 lanes, and the right lane was a complete mess. I mean barely passable. But this was no sweat for the BMW X3 xDrive20d Business. I was caught off guard shifting back to the right lane after an overtake, and what stunned me, even more, was how the refined suspension let me not only keep my speed for a moment but glide through that rough patch so smoothly that, honestly, my rear passengers couldn’t tell the difference between that and smooth tarmac.
Luxury And Practicality Go Hand-In-Hand

The BMW X3 xDrive20d Business also has one of the best boot spaces in the segment, making this trip to the south not only bring my passengers safely but also accommodate all the essentials they need for their baby. From navigating rough roads to packing for a life-changing journey, the X3 proved itself as more than just a luxury compact SUV – it was our reliable partner in creating memories. Along with a quick detour for that sought-after authentic Batangas Lomi and cruising highways it reminds us that driving in the Philippines isn’t all that bad. Especially when you’re behind the wheel of a car like the X3.
Spending time inside the BMW X3 xDrive20d Business is also pleasant, as you’re drenched in premium materials and an impeccably built interior. There are two digital screens, both of which are running the iDrive 7 operating system. Despite the screens, there is still an array of physical controls that make it a very user-friendly interior. The sound system is even nice, and the ambient LED lighting is very immersive.
Looking back, what stands out isn’t just the smooth ride or the spacious and premium interior, but how seamlessly the X3 fits into our adventure. Whether you’re making airport runs, tackling weekend getaways, or supporting friends on their biggest life moments, this BMW shows it’s ready for whatever life throws your way. It’s not just about getting from point A to B, it’s about enjoying every moment in between. And isn’t that what life and driving should be all about?
