The Toyota GR Supra has been on sale since 2019, which means that it’s ripe for a refresh, right? Well, unfortunately, while we’re indeed getting a refresh, it also happens to be the final refresh since the GR Supra is ending production soon. On top of that, Toyota is also releasing a GR Supra “A90 Final Edition”, which marks yet another end of an era for the iconic Japanese sports car.

The A90 Final Edition is the most hardcore and potent version of the GR Supra, and thus, it comes with the performance to match. Its B58 engine that’s still sourced from BMW now produces 435 horsepower, an upgrade over the 387 horsepower that the standard version produces. Torque likewise has been increased from 500 to 570 Nm, and to make it even louder, this special edition GR Supra also has an Akrapovic exhaust. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the A90 Final Edition is only available with a six-speed manual transmission.

Toyota also didn’t just tinker with the GR Supra A90 Final Edition’s power, because in order to handle all of that added performance, this special edition GR Supra now comes with adjustable KW suspension, additional chassis bracing, and a recalibrated electric power steering. Braking performance has also been improved use of larger 19-inch Brembo brakes with high-friction brake pads, while the powertrain itself has been given a baffle plate in the engine oil pan to prevent uneven oil distribution during high cornering g-forces.

Now, as for its design, the GR Supra A90 Final Edition comes with a host of aero upgrades that were a result of the GR Supra GT4 development team from Toyota Gazoo Racing Europe. These exterior upgrades include the carbon-fiber front splitter, the front canards, a front center flap, and a carbon-fiber swan-neck rear wing. There’s a carbon-fiber hood duct with a removable inner duct that improves cooling performance when removed. Finally, the staggered 19-inch and 20-inch wheels fitted to this special edition model have the GR logo engraved directly into the alloy wheels.

Inside, the GR Supra A90 Final Edition comes with full carbon-fiber Recaro bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara, in which that same material has also been applied to the center console, dashboard, and door panels. There are also red seatbelts and exclusive carbon-fiber scuff plates.
Only 300 units of the A90 Final Edition will be sold globally, making this a highly-exclusive version of the famed Japanese sportscar. The current generation A90 GR Supra is headed on its way out, but it’s still unknown if we’ll be seeing a successor. Nevertheless, car enthusiasts still have a lot of cars to look forward to because Toyota has recently confirmed as well that the Celica is making a comeback within a couple of years with the presence of Akio Toyoda.
