Jaguar has undergone a massive transformation that completely flipped the brand on its head, for better or worse. Gone is the British premium brand’s reserved and contemporary image; in its place is something bold and ready to make a statement. But while so much can be said about their change in branding, it’s better first to let the product speak for itself. Enter the Type 00, a concept car that previews the future of Jaguar.

The Jaguar Type 00 Concept is a two-door coupe that previews the brand’s upcoming four-door electric luxury sedan that’s set to debut in late 2025. The Type 00 name refers to the iconic E-Type and F-Type, while the two zeroes are due to its zero emissions and its position as car zero in the brand’s reinvented lineup.
From a design standpoint, the Jaguar Type 00 ditches everything we’ve come to know about modern Jaguars. In its place is a design that’s completely reinvented what the Jaguar brand stands for moving forward. That’s boldly expressed by its long hood with an enclosed grille that features the new “jaGuar” lettering. There is also extremely thin LED lighting, along with a sort of contrasting copper design element surrounding the car’s bodywork.
The side profile of the Jaguar Type 00 has very wide hips, in which they contain wheels with the new Jaguar logo with the j and inverted r. You’ll also notice the lack of any wing mirrors, digital or otherwise. What the Type 00 has is a pair of cameras that pop out of the brass-colored trim piece ahead of the doors, containing the “leaper” logo with a strikethrough. At the back, there is no rear window, but the rear panel opens up to reveal a cargo area. Finally, dominating the rear fascia is a rectangular facade with horizontal slats. The top and bottom slats contain the car’s LED taillights as well.

Just as exuberant as its exterior is its very minimalist interior that uses stone, brass, and textiles rather than wood and leather. Notably absent is any form of digital screens, and that’s because they’re tucked away electronically under the dashboard. If you want to change the interior theme, Jaguar went through the lengths of storing three totems hidden behind the panel on the front fenders–right above the brass covering for the side cameras. Those three totems are placed on the center console and each offer a different theme to suit your mood.
Since the main purpose of this concept car is to preview the future of Jaguar, technical details are understandably few and far between. Jaguar only revealed that it rides on a new JEA dedicated EV platform that has a target WLTP-rated range of 770 kilometers. Jaguar also says it has fast charging capabilities that allow for 321 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes.
Jaguar’s future production EV sedan that’s now set to compete with the likes of Bentley and Rolls-Royce is expected to debut in late 2025. While the Type 00 is indeed a very striking ultra-luxury EV concept, only time will tell whether the radical re-brand and exuberantly-styled vehicle is going to be successful or not for Jaguar.
