Rumors of an updated 2025 Tesla Model Y “Juniper” update have been getting stronger as time passes. Those rumors may now be put to rest as Tesla has officially revealed the updated Model Y in the Asian region first. In fact, it’s already available for pre-order today in the Philippines with a starting price of P2,369,000, with deliveries beginning sometime in April.
This, however, puts into question those who have already pre-ordered the pre-facelift Model Y in the Philippines via online or through their first Uptown Bonifacio Global City store for the past couple of months. Will they have the option to switch to the new Model Y? That’s what we’ll have to find out, but until then, here’s what you need to know about the updated Model Y.
Improved Looks

The 2025 Tesla Model Y, unofficially called the “Juniper” update, gets a comprehensive facelift from its front and rear fascias. Gone is the frog-like LED headlights, replaced by a full-width LED light bar and separate main LED headlight clusters. The slimmer lighting units improve the front-end proportions of the Model Y significantly. Along with the unique full-width LED taillight that uses the first indirect reflective body panel taillight of its kind, the Model Y’s rear end also manages to look distinct.
The side profile of the 2025 Tesla Model Y remains unchanged, but Tesla is proud to highlight that the wheels, particularly the 20-inch ones, have reduced body castings. Rather than use 70 different parts, the wheel is now one single part, to reduce road noise even further. This is complemented by improved tires that also help contribute to improved refinement.
Upgraded Interior

The 2025 Tesla Model Y’s interior receives similar upgrades as the Model 3 “Highland”, which is likewise an unofficial designation for the updated electric sports sedan. The Model Y likewise ditches its stalks for a steering wheel where the wipers and lights are now controlled through steering-wheel capacitive switches. The screen is incrementally larger, now at 15.4 inches, while those at the rear now get their own 8-inch screen, which lets rear passengers play games and videos.

Apart from the improved tech, the build quality of the new Model Y has also been improved. The materials used are of a more premium quality, which is highlighted through the new fabric material on top of the dash. Just like the updated Model 3, the Model Y also gets a new ambient LED light strip surrounding the occupants. Finally, the seats now have ventilation, which means you can cool off during the summer heat with the Model Y’s vegan-friendly synthetic leather upholstery.
Better Refinement

As mentioned, the 2025 Tesla Model Y’s wheel selection doesn’t just get a new look but is also designed to reduce road noise. Other measures were implemented to improve the overall refinement of the Model Y, thanks to the acoustic glass surrounding the interior. The body structure also receives enhancements, wherein increased stiffness not only improves its vibration suppression quality but also handling as well. Tesla, however, didn’t reveal if they did any updates to the suspension or steering, so that’s still something that only a test drive could probably answer.
Improved Range And Performance

The 2025 Tesla Model Y also gets improved range and performance across the board. The base Standard Range RWD for P2,369,000 is now able to achieve 466 kilometers of WLTP-rated range–an 11-kilometer improvement from the previous model. Likewise, its 0-100 kph time of 5.9 seconds is a full second quicker than the older Model Y Standard Range RWD.
For those who want quicker acceleration and even more range, the Long Range AWD Dual Motor for P2,689,000 can now travel up to 551 kilometers versus 533 kilometers for the pre-facelift Model Y. It’s also 0.7 seconds faster to 100 kph at just 4.3 seconds compared to the previous version.
However, to those wanting a 2025 Tesla Model Y Performance, this variant has not yet been revealed, unfortunately. Tesla will most likely reveal the Model Y Performance at a later date and will most likely feature similar differentiation from the standard models as the Model 3 Performance.
