Honda Cars Philippines used the media thanksgiving party today as an opportunity to preview the upcoming facelift for the HR-V. The 2025 Honda HR-V gets a revised look and new features, but the main highlight is the new e:HEV hybrid drivetrain in the range-topping RS. This makes the HR-V the third member of Honda’s growing e:HEV family after the CR-V and the Civic.

Powering the new HR-V RS e:HEV is a 1.5-liter e:HEV hybrid system, which combines a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated gasoline engine with an electric motor that drives the front wheels through an e-CVT. The total system output is 131 horsepower and a strong 253 Nm of torque.
Saying its goodbye for 2025, however, is the 1.5-liter turbo drivetrain. Instead, all other HR-V variants will now only get the 1.5-liter non-turbo four-cylinder i-VTEC engine that produces 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This is likewise sent to the front wheels via a CVT.

Apart from the hybrid system, all variants get aesthetic and tech upgrades. There will be three variants on sale: S, V, and RS e:HEV. All three variants get the reshaped slimmer hexagonal and restyled front bumpers. Even the base S now rides on two-tone 18-inch wheels, while full LED exterior lighting is also a standard feature. Also new for 2025 is a hands-free powered tailgate, but this is only for the range-topping RS e:HEV.

Moving inside, the aesthetic changes are mostly reserved for minor trim improvements, though in terms of features, all variants get added content as standard. For instance, leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and wireless charging are now offered even in the base S. Also new for this year is the 8-inch infotainment system, which is now running a newer operating system with more modern graphics and an updated interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard across all variants.
As for safety, all variants come with the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. This is on top of the usual suite of rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, and a suite of airbags.
Since this is a preview, pricing and more in-depth specs are not yet available. However, Honda Cars Philippines says that the 2025 Honda HR-V will have a price range of P1.6 to P1.9 million. Pre-selling for the new HR-V also starts on January 21.
