The 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid has officially been launched today, and oh boy is it going to reshuffle the hybrid crossover SUV segment. With prices starting at a highly-competitive P2,188,000 for the base EX, and topping out at a still-competitive P2,888,000 for the SX AWD, the Sorento Hybrid has a lower base price than the RAV4 Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid—two hybrid crossover SUVs at a smaller size class.
But what exactly do you get in the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid? Well, for starters, a snazzy exterior design comes as standard. The mid-cycle facelift has given the Sorento a new front fascia, which comes as standard with those Star Map LED daytime running lights with vertically stacked LED headlights (projector-type for SX and multi-reflector for EX and EX+). 19-inch two-tone wheels are likewise standard, though full LED taillights are reserved for the SX.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, which is no bad thing since the Sorento still looks properly sleek and modern in 2025. Other exterior features that are fitted as standard on all variants include a hands-free powered tailgate, along with smart entry with push-button start.
As for the interior, the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid gets a redesigned dash in order to accommodate the two displays–a standard 12.3-inch touch screen that’s running Hyundai Motor Group’s latest connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) operating system, and a digital gauge cluster. In the EX, this is a segment-type digital gauge cluster with a 4.2-inch color display, while EX+ and SX variants get a 12.3-inch screen. Fabric upholstery is also offered in the base EX, while EX+ and SX variants get leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, wireless charging, cooled front seats, and a Bose sound system, among other features. Exclusive to the SX is a panoramic sunroof.
Of course, the main highlight of it all is its standard hybrid powertrain. In the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid’s case, it’s a parallel hybrid system that consists of a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder and an electric motor mounted together with the six-speed automatic in one driveshaft. The total system output is 235 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. This replaces the 2.2-liter turbodiesel on all variants, thanks to Executive Order 62 exempting electrified vehicles from import duties.
Finally, as for advanced safety features, the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid comes as standard with the DriveWise suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. In the EX, you get Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Follow Assist, and Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, while in the EX+ and SX, this is bundled further with Blind Spot View Monitor, Rear Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Parking Collision Avoidance Assist – Reverse, Smart Cruise Control, and a 360-Degree Surround View Monitor. Unique to SX are Rear Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist and Safe Exit Assist.
As mentioned, thanks to Executive Order 62, the 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid has a very competitive price tag that not only undercuts the competing Santa Fe even with a hybrid drivetrain, but it also undercuts the RAV4 Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid, which are in a smaller segment.
