Changan PH Reveals A Quartet Of Electrified Models At MIAS

Changan Philippines has revealed a quartet of electrified models at the Manila International Auto Show, including a range-extender pickup.

Inchcape Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Changan in the Philippines, unveils four groundbreaking electrified vehicles at the Manila International Auto Show today at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. The Changan Nevo Q05 is the brand’s plug-in hybrid electric vehicle compact SUV offering. Exterior-wise, with its soft and clean lines, accentuated with tasteful chrome accents, the model sports a minimalist design that exudes modernity and sophistication. Some of its notable exterior features are full-LED lighting elements and 19-inch wheels. At the back, the model’s exterior look is completed by a pair of rectangular LED tail lights, and an aerodynamic rear spoiler.

As for the interior, the Nevo Q05 offers features that are comfortable, premium, and advanced, specifically focused on providing a convenient and enjoyable riding experience. Two-tone leather seats with power adjustment for both driver and front passenger are there to set the mood. Other features include a 10.25-inch fully digital gauge cluster and 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 6-speaker Pioneer sound system, wireless charging, ambient LED lighting, powered tailgate, and a panoramic sunroof.

The Q05 also comes with a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), particularly Integrated Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Change Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Jam Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Intelligent High Beam, Surround View Camera System, and Automatic Parking Assist that enables you to drive the vehicle in and out of tight parking spaces with just the use of the key fob.

The Changan Nevo Q05 is powered by a 1.5-liter BlueCore Range Extender engine, mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that produces 212 hp and 330 Nm of torque. The Range Extender drivetrain has three (3) electric driving modes: Battery Electric, Hybrid, and Range Extended Electric. Additionally, the Q05 has Intelligent Energy Management (iEM), which allows the vehicle to adjust its energy consumption based on driving patterns and conditions.

Thanks to its onboard 18.4 kWh battery, the Q05 has a range of 125 km on full EV mode. With the range extender, this figure goes up to 1,215 km.

The second electric vehicle on display, the Changan Nevo Hunter K50, claims to be the world’s first Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (RE-EV) pick-up in the market. On the outside, the model sets itself apart with its commanding presence, yet finds the perfect balance between urban lifestyle practicality and off-road ruggedness. The model also dons a borderless grill, accentuated with LED Headlamps that extend to the front fenders. The side profile gained a muscular stance as it is flanked by sharp, clean lines and complemented by wheel arches in matte black and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 60 series tires.

On the inside, the vehicle welcomes passengers with a comfortable and straightforward cabin that the Changan brand is known for. Some of the remarkable interior features are its 7.5-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker sound system, a wireless charging pad, and leather seats with power adjustment for the front occupants.

On safety, the Hunter K50 is equipped with additional safety features on top of the usual, such as Driver, Front Passenger, Front Side, Front and Rear Curtain Airbags, Lane Departure Warning, 540° Panoramic Camera, Speed Limit Reminder, and Cruise Control.

The Hunter K50 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged BlueCore Range Extender engine that acts as an electricity generator. For the 4×2 variant, a single motor drive produces a maximum of 174 hp with 320 Nm torque. For the 4×4 variant, a dual motor drive produces a maximum output of 268 hp and 470 Nm torque. In pure electric, the model has a range of 180 km that may go up to 1,031 km with the range extender.

Additionally, the Hunter K50 has a Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature. This means that the vehicle is equipped with a standard electrical discharge unit to power electronic devices up to 3.3 kW external power output via dual 220V outlets, enabling users to power appliances for up to 100 hours. It also sports a 2.5-ton towing capacity, making it a capable on and off-road companion.

Changan Lumin EV

Changan Lumin is the brand’s first mini hatchback electric vehicle offering in the country. With its smart and innovative design that prioritizes functionality, it aims to cater to those who are looking for a fun, affordable, and compact mini vehicle that is best for city driving.

On the exterior, the model’s aesthetics exude a refreshing vibe with its modern, clean, and minimalist design. Both the front and back are accentuated with round halogen projector headlights and tail lights with LED position lights. Mechanical hidden door handles pop out only when needed, helping reduce vehicle drag. As for the wheels, the Lumin gets 14-inch steelies with fun-looking hubcaps that complete the overall refreshing look.

On the inside, the model sports carefully selected features that are necessary for daily city driving. These are cushioned seats in tri-color fabric upholstery, a 2-speaker sound system with Bluetooth, and a 7-inch segment-type digital instrument cluster.

A game changer in the micro-EV segment, the Lumin may be a practical and affordable model, but it does not forget to always prioritize the safety of its driver and passenger. With a wide array of safety features such as Driver and Front Passenger Dual Airbags, Auto Unlock, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Assist Control (HAC), and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), owners of the Lumin are gifted with peace of mind while on the road.

Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Lumin provides light and easy maneuverability and driving experience. It is driven by a front-mounted electric motor that produces 47 hp and 83 Nm of torque. The model also has two (2) drive mode options: Ec improves the car’s energy consumption and Sport sharpens the car’s response for an added fun and spirited drive.

The Lumin’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery also comes in two capacities: 17.65 kWh with a range of 190 kilometers for the S variant, and 28.08 kWh with a range of 301 kilometers for the L variant. It is notable that the Changan Lumin has the highest-rated battery capacities and has the longest and widest dimensions in the micro-BEV segment.

The Nevo A05 is Changan’s upcoming plug-in hybrid compact sedan. Today, Changan Philippines is pleased to provide customers the first and exclusive preview of the upcoming Changan Nevo A05 prior to its official introduction within the second half of the year.

The Changan Nevo A05 offers a driving experience that is both powerful yet efficient. It is equipped with a 1.5-liter BlueCore Range Extender, mated to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which, together, produce 212 hp and 330 Nm of torque.

Like the Changan Q05, the A05 is also capable of switching to three (3) diverse electric driving modes: Battery Electric, Hybrid, and Range Extended Electric. On top of this, the Q05 also sports Intelligent Energy Management (iEM), which allows the vehicle to adjust its energy consumption based on driving patterns and conditions. With its 18.4 kWh battery, the model can do 145 kilometers on full EV mode, and 1,250 kilometers on range extender mode.
