Now that the dust has settled and the 2025 Isuzu Mu-X is now on sale in the Philippines, here’s what you need to know about the brand’s latest entry into the pickup-based three-row SUV segment. The question now is, does it have what it takes to compete with the likes of the Ford Everest or Toyota Fortuner?

For the 2025 model year, the Isuzu Mu-X receives its second facelift, though this is its most comprehensive update yet. For this update, the Mu-X receives a new front end that’s characterized by a wider grille and a front bumper that’s inspired by fighter jets. This is then complemented by new “Dynamic Blade” LED headlights as standard on all variants.

The side profile remains largely unchanged, though the LS-E variant gets a new turbine-style design for its 20-inch wheels. The LS rides on 17-inch wheels while the mid-spec LS-A gets 18-inch wheels. Lastly, the rear end now comes with a new tailgate design, featuring a full-width trim piece that connects the new LED taillights. There’s also a new rear bumper to complement the revised rear fascia.

As we move towards the interior, there have been a few equipment enhancements across all variants–chief of which being a slightly larger 10.1-inch infotainment system, though it’s still from a local supplier and not the OEM factory infotainment that overseas models get. Nevertheless, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, but in the LS-A and LS-E, this is now wireless.

LS-A and LS-E variants also benefit from a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a Digital Video Recorder, blue ambient LED lighting, a smart key with push-button start, and wireless charging, just to name a few. What’s exclusive to the LS-E are features like leather upholstery, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a powered tailgate, and an 8-speaker sound system.
Powering the 2025 Isuzu Mu-X is still the same but highly-loved 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX 3.0-liter turbo diesel engine, which produces 190 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. In the base LS 4×2 A/T, your engine option is a 1.9-liter RZ4E turbo diesel engine that produces 150 horses and 350 Nm of torque. Whichever variant you choose, a six-speed automatic is your only transmission choice.
The Mu-X not only receives aesthetic enhancements but also upgrades to the chassis and suspension that aim to improve the vehicle’s ride and handling. The 4×4 variant also gets an enhanced Traction Control System with Rough Terrain Mode, but unfortunately, Isuzu Philippines still hasn’t equipped the Mu-X with a rear locking differential–even if all of its rivals have such a feature.
Lastly, the LS-E variants of the Mu-X come with a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), such as full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, just to name a few. What’s new for this year is Rear Cross Traffic Brake, which works in conjunction with the blind spot radar’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert. These are on top of the newly-equipped front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system for the LS-A and LS-E.
As for pricing, here’s how much the 2025 Isuzu Mu-X now costs:
