This is the new Suzuki Fronx, a subcompact crossover SUV that’s set to battle with the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet. Previewed over the weekend at Suzuki Philippines’ 50th Anniversary celebrations at SM Mall of Asia, here’s what you need to know about the soon-to-be-launched Suzuki Fronx.

Measuring at just under 4 meters long (3,995 mm to be precise), the Fronx sits right at the heart of the small crossover SUV segment. Pricing or even its launch date remain under wraps, but the new Suzuki Fronx makes a solid first impression. Upfront, it’s got a sporty and aggressive front end, thanks to a mesh grille that’s flanked by slim LED daytime running lights. The main LED headlights are in a separate housing, giving the Fronx a distinct front end.

Likewise, the side profile is sculpted and filled with curves to match the rest of the car’s sleek bodywork. Shown here is potentially the range-topping model, as it features a black contrasting roof and black 16-inch alloy wheels. Finally, as for the rear end, the Suzuki Fronx gets a full-width LED taillight design, because why not? These are in vogue these days, right? There’s also a sloping roofline to match, along with a bold rear bumper featuring a large faux silver skid plate-like trim piece.

Moving inside the Suzuki Fronx, the overall material feel is more on the utilitarian side, though there’s a reasonable amount of plush, thanks to the dark brown interior color scheme and leatherette upholstery. There are also two analog gauges with a color multi-information display (MID), along with a large infotainment system, presumably with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This is just a preview, mind you, so full specs and pricing are not yet confirmed.
What is confirmed is its 1.5-liter mild-hybrid drivetrain. Fitted with a 48-volt integrated starter generator (ISG) and a lithium-ion battery, its total output is 105 hp and 137 Nm of torque. This is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic or even a five-speed manual, if Suzuki Philippines wishes to launch such a variant.
Suzuki Philippines plans to formally launch the new Fronx before the end of 2025, with pricing and full specifications to be announed by then.
