The 2026 MG ZS is now in the Philippines, featuring an all-new design, improved tech, and a first-ever hybrid variant.

The MG ZS is one of the Sino-British automaker’s most successful cars in the Philippines. Therefore, a sequel is definitely needed to keep the story rolling. A year after making its global debut, the 2026 MG ZS has officially arrived in the Philippines, and along with it is a first-ever hybrid variant for our market.

From a styling perspective, the front fascia of the 2026 MG ZS contains the brand’s latest design motif, incorporating an octagonal grille that’s flanked by L-shaped vents and a pair of slim headlights, though LED headlights and a panoramic sunroof are standard on all but the base Comfort. The side profile has also been reshaped with bigger windows, containing a more conventional and straight window line as opposed to one that kicks upward from the previous model.

There’s also a new set of alloy wheels, ranging from 16 inches in the base Comfort, all the way to 18 inches in the Sport and Hybrid+ variants. Lastly, the rear end looks more conventional now as the license plate has been relocated to the tailgate itself, while LED taillights are standard on all variants.

While the exterior changes are significant, they still don’t move the design goalpost any further, but everyone will probably agree that the interior is where the most dramatic changes occur. There’s a sculpted dash with hexagonal air vents, while the materials used are now more premium. There’s also a canopy that separates the vehicle controls, orienting them more towards the driver, while MG has given the new ZS a generous serving of tech.

All but the base Comfort gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, while Comfort and Luxury variants have to contend with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. Stepping up to the Sport and Hybrid+ increases the infotainment’s size to 12.3 inches, and along with it is single-zone automatic climate control. The Sport and Hybrid+ also get a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 360-degree camera, and the MG Pilot suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), ranging from full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, and lane centering, just to name a few.

Three engine choices are available for the 2026 MG ZS. The Comfort and Luxury get a 1.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 110 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque, while the Sport gets a turbocharged 1.5-liter mill that produces 170 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. These variants get a CVT.

On the other hand, the range-topping Hybrid+ gets a 1.5-liter four-cylinder mated to an electric motor that’s arranged in a series-parallel layout. Whereas the Japanese brands would use their version of an e-CVT, the ZS Hybrid+ uses a three-speed automatic (marketed as a Direct Hybrid Transmission). This is also the most powerful variant with 197 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque, allowing it to have a 0-100 kph time of 8.7 seconds.

The 2026 MG ZS is now on sale in the Philippines at the following prices, which come with a P40,000 introductory discount for the Comfort and Luxury, while the Turbo Sport has a P50,000 introductory discount. Lastly, the Hybrid+ gets a whopping P80,000 introductory discount until the end of July:

  • 1.5 Comfort: P948,888
  • 1.5 Luxury: P1,088,888
  • 1.5 Turbo Sport: P1,198,888
  • 1.5 Hybrid+: P1,328,888
