Ever since its rebranding, we have seen that Kia has been on a role in terms of upping its game in the automotive market; whether that’s through the sleek, renewed styling languages implemented across the current generation of Kia models, or the company’s further move into electrification; Kia has been impressing the scene since just about the start of the 2020’s. But how about combining both of those impressive elements? Since its introduction in the Philippines two years, the South Korean automaker has taken the electric vehicle (EV) spotlight with the 2025 Kia EV6, in all its sleek, electrified charm. yet despite all those years, we can see that EV6 still holds strongly to its unique place in the local SUV segment.
Exterior Styling

One of the highlights of the 2025 Kia EV6 as a whole is its exterior design; the car itself is a showcase of smooth, flowing elegance mixed with elements that give it a more linear, sharp accentuation; a beautiful representation of Kia’s forward-thinking design, which gives the car a unique, head-turning factor as it goes down the road. Our test unit came with the “Moonscape” color code, which comprises a grayed-out matte finish akin to a dark, polished aluminum, which gives it an almost retro-futuristic appearance similar to that of its platform-sharing counterpart, the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
On the front end you’ll find the EV6’s aggressive side featuring a sleek, wide front-fascia with angular sculptured dual-LED headlights and daytime running lights for the upper half, and a short, blacked out grille, accents, and chin spoiler on the lower half, giving the appearance which emphasizes aerodynamics and an overall imposing look to the car which would make anyone do a double-take as they see the car approaching from their rear-view mirrors or passing by on the street. And following the smooth bodylines, the sleekness continues onto the sides of the car too thanks to flush-fit handles which pop out whenever you unlock the car, helping operate the weighty, wide-opening doors for cabin access.
The rear end of the EV6 reveals a once more futuristic and linear-designed tail light set which extends at a “brow” shape located up and across the automatic-opening tailgate. And topping it all off is the low-rise wing mounted at the upper-rear portion of the EV6 just above the glass, completing the flowy and elegant, but aggressive body-styling cues the car conveys.
Looking slightly onto the lower side of the car, we can find the EV6’s equally futuristic and sleek-looking 20-inch, almost “salad-shooter” esque alloy rims, which help further express Kia’s forward-thinking design, albeit through five forward-arching spokes in black and silver accents.
In overseas markets, the South Korean automaker has already revealed the 2026 mid-cycle facelift of the Kia EV6, giving it an even more distinct front end, unique alloy wheels, and a heavily improved interior. Kia has yet to introduce the updated model in the Philippines, but for now, this is the EV6 that you’ll be getting in showrooms.
Interior Styling, Space, and Creature Comfort

The artfulness of the 2025 Kia EV6’s overall design language continues even further inside; the dash is an angular design piece that features a wide two-piece instrument panel that houses the driver’s gauge cluster and infotainment through two 12.3-inch display screens, with the infotainment featuring touch-screen operation. The interior also features ambient lighting which extends across the dash, adding to the sophisticated design feel, especially during nighttime trips.
The driver’s side of the car features a nicely sized, manual tilt and telescopic adjustable 2-spoke steering wheel which grips comfortably whether you’re wanting to toss the car around through the twisties or take a more relaxed grip position during longer cruises, all while adding a sort of retro-futuristic touch to an otherwise futuristic looking car and interior. Behind the wheel, you’ll also find the EV6’s gauge cluster package ,which comes with readouts for speed and charging range and an onboard charge consumption indicator, as well as the battery percentage on the men,u along with other standard features.
Although a neat feature on the EV6’s gauge cluster is its ability to change themes in between driving modes, with eco mode taking a softer theme, which becomes progressively more aggressive looking as the car switches to sport mode, which changes the gauge cluster design to have a more sporty, angular look with red accents, and also swaps the charge consumption meter for a torque-output display meter.

Looking towards the middle of the dash, the EV6’s infotainment system is convenient to use with its features relatively easy to find within the menus; although some folks who are less familiar with EVs might find some settings, such as the charging rate adjustment menu, a bit tricky to find at first, though is easy enough to become familiar with thanks to a user-friendly display. It’s also worth pointing out that the EV6 doesn’t come with wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and a wired connection is a must for these features.
And while the EV6’s infotainment system is excellently organized in and of itself, what’s even more noteworthy is the sound setup that it connects to; the EV6 is equipped with a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, which features Kia’s Active Sound Design that basically adds artificial vehicle sounds that are typically missing on EVs, thereby enhancing the driving experience to an extent.

Like neighboring Kia models such as the Sorento, the 2025 Kia EV6 boasts a familiar control panel below the infotainment system, which is shared between the controls for the infotainment and climate control; while this feature may help in promoting a more minimalist look for the dashboard, it does get a bit confusing switching between these controls, especially while focusing on the road.

To aid in driver and passenger comfort, the seats on the EV6 are firm and most supportive with 8-way adjustability and 2-way lumbar adjustability for both front seats, with the driver’s side having an additional memory function. With that much adjustability, it should give anyone an easier time finding a comfortable seating position for driving or riding along. The front seats also come with Kia’s “Auto Relaxation” feature, which, with a press of a button, positions the seat in a more laid-back position; this comes in handy during longer drives when stopping for resting and/or charging is needed.
Looking towards the backside of the EV6’s interior, you’ll find a more than ample amount of head and legroom for rear seat occupants; we like the fact that the rear seats are mounted low in the car, which gives the rear cabin a more roomy and cozy feeling. In terms of cargo space, the 2025 Kia EV6 boasts a large and decently tall trunk space area, which gets even larger with the 60:40 split folding rear seats down, which allows the users to bring with them a wide array of items which they would need in a trip, whether that’s from the everyday grocery run, to even surfboards for that spontaneous weekend getaway if one pleases.

What’s also a nice about the EV6’s trunk space is that on the sides just above the tire well, you can find latches which allow you to fold the rear seats down on either side without needing to open the passenger rear doors to flip the seats down manually; a nice little feature that, when combined with all other features that the EV6 has to offer, really highlights the excellent level of convenience and usability that the car has.
Powertrain & Performance

The 2025 Kia EV6 rocks a full electric, single-motor setup which puts out a more than respectable 229 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque with a single-speed automatic transmission that puts the power down through the rear wheels; a setup fitting of the EV6’s sporty theme.
In Eco and Normal driving modes, power delivery is smoother and more linear, and we had an easier time modulating the throttle on Eco, especially in city and highway driving, as it gives a less jumpy and more gentle feel to the car’s acceleration.
However, in Sport mode, the said jumpiness comes in handy when it comes to the important factor of fun; putting the pedal down will give a burst of instantaneous, torque-filled acceleration which may impress just about anyone used to combustion engine-equipped cars of a similar stature.
Handling Performance, Tires, Suspension, and Braking

The 2025 Kia EV6 rides on a fairly standard set of suspension and braking equipment, which includes MacPherson struts up front and a multi-link system at the rear. The car also comes with disk-brakes all around, and with decently meaty 235/55 tires on low profile 20-inch rims. But in the case of the EV6, “standard” certainly does not mean mundane; with a firm feel, the car steers quickly and precisely, all while giving a good amount of feedback to the driver.
Although, something to point out on the steering of the EV6 is that you can somewhat noticeably feel the significant change in steering effort as the car adjusts from lower to higher speeds which allows the car to achieve a balance between having a softer steering feel for driving in the city and in parking situations, and providing a more firm, feedback-rich steering feel at higher speeds both in straights and in twists when the driver needs to keep track of what the front wheels are doing.
Everyday Driving Comfort

Coming from the twists and back onto more calm driving, the 2025 Kia EV6 is a decently comfortable and weighty-feeling car; in both city and highway speeds, the car presents itself to be smooth and quiet, with little wind-noise even going up into higher speeds, which makes the driver really feel like they’re cutting through the with how planted and stable the EV6 feels, even at more paced-up highway cruising speeds.
There is, however, a decent amount of tire noise at higher speeds, although this is certainly not a problem at all as the EV6 is as quiet as ever in low to moderate speeds in the city, thanks to a seemingly good amount of sound insulation, and of course the lack of a combustion engine.
In either case, the EV6 comes with another neat feature in regards to its regenerative braking, in which case the feature can be manually adjusted or set to auto but will remain adjustable using the paddles on the steering wheel either way, with the left paddle to increase the regen rate and the right paddle to decrease it. What this does is that, especially when the regen-braking rate is set to its middle or higher value, the car will not only preserve its charge longer during drives, but rather it also allows for one-pedal driving causes the car to slow down at a higher rate when you let off the accelerator, effectively slowing the car down without using the brakes.
It’s also worth noting that conveniently, the regenerative braking system adapts to the speed of the traffic in front of you when set to auto; this causes the regenerative braking to increase as the traffic in front becomes closer, and allows for better coasting when no nearby traffic is ahead. This helps avoid the frequent switching of the foot of the driver between the accelerator and brake pedal which helps improve comfort and reduce fatigue especially during longer drives.
Battery Efficiency
In terms of battery consumption, the 2025 Kia EV6 gets a fair bit of mileage from its energy storage capability; our test drive consisted of a nice and breezy 290+ kilometer ride from Laguna to Clark and back, which brought our starting percentage from 89 to about 32 percent. With that considered, mid-trip we were able to achieve an efficiency rating of 7.6 km/kWh through the onboard computer, which, when multiplied with the EV6’s total battery capacity of 77.4 kWh shows that the average would yield a total range of 565 kilometers, which actually slightly exceeds the EV6’s claimed total mileage of 528 kilometers–highlighting the EV6’s overall capability in achieving good battery efficiency.
Speaking of battery efficiency, the charging on the EV6, although it may have a bit of an adjustment period, is relatively easy and convenient once you download the EVRO app, which provides users an interface for the payment processes and charging volumes for the car itself.
On a 22 kW charger, we managed to charge the EV6 from 11 to 32 percent in roughly an hour and a half; certainly not the same amount of time it takes to fill up at the pumps with a conventional fuel-burning car, but it does get faster once you maximize fast-charging, which can significantly cut down the time to a full charge.
On our test for home charging, it gets even slower; about 29 to 32 percent in roughly an hour and a half to two hours plugged in; although what’s important to note here is that we had to set the charging rate to its lowest setting of minimum for the EV6, since Philippine household outlets are set at 10 amps.
Although we didn’t really get to maximize it, it’s also worth to point out the EV6’s ability for V2L, or Vehicle-to-load, which allows users to power external devices up to a rating of 3.6kw using the onboard battery; a neat feature that tends to come in handy in camping trips, or even power outages, as it can allow users to power appliances even to the like of refrigerators.
Safety
The 2025 Kia EV6 offers an array of standard safety features which includes front, side, and curtain airbags as well as Electronic Stability Control, a Multi-Collision Brake System, Hill-Start Assist Control, and a tire pressure monitoring and anti-theft systems. Isofix child-anchors and child locks also come standard.
Along with this, the car also comes equipped with the brand’s DriveWise suite of advanced driver-assistance safety systems which can be found in neighboring Kia models, such as the lane-keep assist feature, full-speed adaptive cruise control, as well as a blind-spot collision warning system with cameras to peep through when the turn signals are used; a neat and convenient feature which we appreciated as it make merging safer especially in maneuvering during more traffic-dense situtations.
Conclusion
Even two years after its initial release, the 2025 Kia EV6 continues to present its flair in terms of both show and go; it remains a staple in the genre of stylish and luxurious EVs that can not only provide a sophisticated and quality ride experience with a plethora of driver assists and convenience features, but also provide thrilling acceleration and driving fun whenever you please. But with its steep SRP of P3,788,000, you can sort of understand why people may skip over choosing the EV6, especially given the current landscape of EV offerings in the Philippines that also gives decently specced-out electric cars at a lower price range such as those from BYD, Tesla, or even GAC.
But if you don’t, you’ll find that first impressions do last, as the Kia EV6 retains its value as a solid, sporty, and stylish offering with plenty of conveniences and luxuries which sets it apart even in the EV landscape in the Philippines today. Oh, and it’s worth noting that the South Korean automaker is offering a steep discount on the EV6 GT Line, reducing its total SRP to just P2,288,000 at certain dealerships. Perhaps that’s a strong sign that the updated model is coming soon, so either you wait for that model to arrive, or get the outgoing EV6 now with a price that puts it firmly with the Tesla Model Y‘s base SRP.
