Perhaps Toyota has one of the largest amounts of displays at the 2025 Japan Mobility Show as they reveal the Corolla Concept. With the Corolla now approaching six years of age, its compact sedan is indeed ripe for a new generation model, hence the motivation for the Japanese automaker to showcase the Toyota Corolla Concept.
For the upcoming 12th-generation model, the Corolla is set to receive a radical overhaul as it completely reinvents the compact sedan’s design. Toyota’s C-shaped hammerhead front end takes on a more angular approach, featuring sharp lines and a wide but enclosed front end–a hint of what could power it in the future.
As we move towards the side, the front fenders have a structured design that’s separated visually by a vertical line under the wing mirrors. There’s a charge port beside it, which, alongside the enclosed grille, already hints at its electric drivetrain. As we approach the rear section, the roofline tapers towards the rear ducktail spoiler, which somehow creates a double-decker design for its rear end.
Like the exterior, the interior of the Toyota Corolla Concept radically rethinks the compact sedan’s amenities. There are two screens, neither of which is in the middle, and they are distinctly meant for the driver and front passenger, respectively. Rather than a center console, the interior features a table in the middle, along with futuristic seats.
As a radically styled concept, a lot of things can still change, design-wise. What we do know is that the next-generation Corolla will serve as the flagbearer of the brand’s multi-pathway approach. The Corolla will be sold in pure electric, gasoline, and hybrid versions.
Toyota has remained quiet on when we can expect the next-generation Corolla. We think, however, that it will be around two years from now until we see the next-generation Corolla in full. Then again, this is just our speculation, so take our predictions with a grain of salt.
