The 2026 GWM Haval H9 has now arrived in the Philippines, after being teased at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show. Set to be a bread-and-butter model of the GWM brand in the Philippines, the Haval H9 midsize SUV is competing with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and Ford Everest, just to name a few.
From the outside, the Haval H9 carries a rugged yet refined aesthetic. Immediately setting itself apart from its contemporary rivals is its boxy shape. This is complemented by a tall, vertical grille with horizontal slats, and it can be finished in either matte gray or chrome. Round LED headlights with LED daytime running lights complement the look, along with wide fenders that neatly integrate with the step boards.
Moving towards the rear end, the square-shaped spare tire housing complements the rear fascia, while the blocky LED taillights blend well with the boxy rear fascia. 18-inch wheels with a machine finish add a refined touch to the design as well, while heavy-duty roof rails are capable of holding a decent amount of weight for camping and other rugged uses.
As for the interior, the 2026 GWM Haval H9 blends rugged and refined with its mix of hard-wearing plastics and plush surfaces. Two color hues are available, depending on the selected col0r: black or saddle brown. Greeting the driver is a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, while the rest of the occupants are able to play with the new Coffee OS 3 that powers the 14.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features of the Haval H9 include a sunroof, rear air conditioning vents, and third-row seating.
Powering the 2026 GWM Haval H9 is a new 2.4-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 186 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque. This is mated to a new nine-speed automatic that powers an electronic four-wheel drive (4WD) system. The engine, along with the transmission, are all developed in-house by GWM, showcasing the company’s research and development prowess, especially with rugged off-roading vehicles.
Lastly, as for safety, the Haval H9 comes with a 540-degree camera, which means it also has a camera that’s pointing towards the ground for off-road use. There’s also the usual plethora of airbags and electronic safety aids, but there’s no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) to speak of.
As for pricing, the 2026 GWM Haval H9 will have a base price of P1,998,888, but for a limited time, it will have an introductory price of P1,928,888. The Haval H9 is now on sale across all GWM dealers nationwide.
