Ferrari Reveals Luce EV’s Interior Created By Apple’s Former Designer

Take a look at the interior of the Ferrari Luce, which is filled with tactility and detail to make it satisfying to operate.

Ferrari is preparing to unveil its first electric vehicle (EV) in May 2026, but before doing so, it is starting to drip-feed a few details about its upcoming model launch. Formerly called the Elettrica, it will now be called the Ferrari Luce (pronounced loo-che), and the Italian supercar manufacturer is showcasing its interior ahead of its debut.

And what an interior it is, as it looks both modern and retro, which is executed in the most elegant way possible. Thank the design firm called LoveFrom that former Apple designer, Johnny Ive, and Marc Newson created. Though the iPhone and iPad mastermind created these devices purely for touch input, the Luce’s interior has plenty of tactility.

It all begins with the toggles on the touchscreen, in which the interface seamlessly blends with the all-glass surfaces to create an uninterrupted look when the display functions are activated. The screen itself has a handle at the bottom, which allows you to make it face the driver or the front passenger. The handle also makes it easier to use the toggle switches.

Another toggle is located on the overhead console for the launch control, and also the gear selector. Interestingly, starting up the car involves placing the Prancing Horse key on top of its dedicated, magnetized slot. You push the key down into the glass panel, and the illumination of the key moves towards the gear selector, signifying that you can now operate the vehicle. It’s all pure visual drama to make starting up an EV theatrical.

Moving towards the steering, this is made out of 19 CNC-machined parts, while the wheel itself is made out of exposed aluminum. It is lighter than your usual Ferrari steering wheel, while the tactile controls on the steering wheel reduce your interaction with the touchscreen interface. Noteworthy features include the wiper switch, which has a small magnifying glass for you to easily see which mode you’re in.

Lastly, the displays are just as excruciatingly detailed. The OLED panels overlap to create a deep dial design that looks almost analog upon first inspection. Heck, Ferrari even uses a physical needle for these OLED gauges, adding even more depth to these gauges.

All of the gloss black surfaces you see around the interior aren’t some cheap plastic like in most cars, mind you. All of these are Corning Gorilla Glass, and they’re also limited to those surrounding the displays and the gear selector. Surrounding the gear selector is matte glass, so that it resists fingerprints. As for those toggles and switches, Ferrari test drivers went through 20 rounds of testing just to optimize the feel and sound of each switch. Safe to say, the interior is going to be ASMR-worthy.

With this level of detail put into the interior of the Ferrari Luce, can you imagine how much emotion the Italian supercar manufacturer will most likely pour into the driving feel of its first EV? We’ll have to wait until May to fully appreciate what the Maranello brand has in store for those interested in a Ferrari EV.
