Geely PH Opens Pre-Orders For EX5 EM-i, Starts At P1.288M

Geely Motor Philippines has opened pre-selling for the Geely EX5 EM-i plug-in hybrid SUV, just as fuel prices are set to increase in the coming weeks. The EX5 EM-i is a plug-in hybrid compact SUV that’s set to rival the BYD Sealion 6 DM-i, but with an affordable entry-level variant that significantly undercuts its BYD rival. 

Despite the vehicle not yet being launched, its powertrain details have already been revealed on their website. The Philippine-spec EX5 EM-i features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor, mated to Geely’s unique Electronic-Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (E-DHT). This has a system output of 217 horsepower and 262 Nm of torque. With an 18.4 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the EX5 EM-i has a pure electric range of 83 km and a combined range of 943 km. 

Like the fully-electric EX5, the EX5 EM-i features an interior that’s focused on tech and modernity. We still don’t know its Philippine specs, but we can see a full-width air vent across the dash, plus there are the two large screens—a 15.4-inch main infotainment and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. All of this is running the Flyme operating system, and it comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Now, as for pricing, the base EX5 EM-i Pro is set at P1,288,000 and P1,468,000 for the EX5 EM-i Max.

Reservations are now open ahead of the model’s official launch, with early customers eligible for priority allocation. To further boost the vehicle’s appeal and reach a wider audience, mall display activations are also scheduled across Metro Manila to allow customers to see the EX5 EM-i up close.
