Ford PH Adds Mustang Mach-E RWD Variant With P2.599M Special Price

The Ford Mustang Mach-E RWD is a new, more affordable variant of the brand's first electric vehicle offering in the Philippines.

Ford Philippines is introducing a more affordable version of the Mustang Mach-E with a new rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant, complementing the Mustang Mach-E all-wheel drive (AWD) launched last year. The Mustang Mach-E RWD is available at a starting retail price of P2,599,000, but this is due to Ford extending a P500,000 cash discount from its standard retail price of P3,199,000, with an additional P100,000 cash discount for the Grabber Yellow color. For the other color choices, its discounted special price is P2,699,000.

“The arrival of the Mustang Mach-E RWD underscores our commitment to bringing the best of Ford’s global electric lineup to the Philippines,” said Pedro Simoes, managing director, Ford Philippines. “By offering the RWD variant, we are providing our customers with a choice that emphasizes efficiency and long-range capability, all while maintaining the exhilarating performance and head-turning design that makes the Mach-E a true Mustang.”

The Mustang Mach-E RWD has less power than the AWD version, but with 276 horsepower and 525 Nm of torque, it is still plenty quick. But, of course, the RWD layout introduces a major improvement–range. By utilizing a single motor, the RWD model improves energy consumption, boosting range to 615 kilometers on a single charge versus the still impressive 550 kilometers of the AWD version.

Apart from the RWD layout, not much separates the two variants. The Mustang Mach-E RWD retains the fastback silhouette and tri-bar tail lamps that define the Mustang’s identity, along with a frameless grille with active shutters. There are also sli LED projector headlamps featuring automatic leveling, sequential turn signals, and signature lighting. Even the 19-inch wheels are retained, albeit with a slightly different design.

Other exterior details include the E-Latch door system, which replaces the conventional handles for a cleaner look. When the vehicle detects the driver, pressing the B-pillar button releases the door, which opens slightly for easy access via a small aerodynamic hook. Rear passengers use a soft-touch release on the door frame.

As for the interior, the Mustang Mach-E RWD gets perforated ActiveX synthetic leather seats with 10-way power adjustment and heating for both driver and front passenger. Drivers are greeted by a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, while the vehicle’s central control unit is a 15.5-inch touchscreen running Ford’s SYNC 4A operating system with enhanced voice recognition. There’s also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, though the B&O sound system has been omitted.

Like most Ford models sold today, the Mustang Mach-E RWD comes with the Ford App. With the Ford App, owners have the ability to manage their Mach-E right from their mobile devices, such as remote starting the vehicle, managing how the vehicle charges, and even locking and unlocking the vehicle.

The Mustang Mach-E RWD will be sold in Ford Alabang, Ford Balintawak, Ford Cebu, Ford EDSA, Ford Global City, Ford Libis, and Ford Marikina.
