Changan Philippines, through its distributor Inchcape, has revealed the 2026 Changan CS35 Max at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show. The CS35 Max is not related in any way, shape, or form to the CS35 Plus, as this is a completely different vehicle. This is known as the Changan X5 Plus in China, but in overseas markets, it gets the CS35 Max name.
Nevertheless, the CS35 Max is being positioned as a successor to the CS35 Plus. Yet, despite belonging to a completely different model family altogether, the 2026 Changan CS35 Max looks completely different from any of its crossovers. Its design is very sleek, particularly for a crossover at its price point.
Up front, you get a large hexagonal grille that’s complemented by triangular side air intakes. Depending on the variant, the front chin may feature red accents for a sportier look. Full LED headlights also come as standard. At the car’s side profile, the CS35 Max features sharp creases and a rising window line that complements the steeply raked rear fascia. 18-inch alloy wheels, as well as side mirrors with heating, come as standard, while exclusive to the Luxe variant are features that include power folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and a powered tailgate.
Just like the exterior, the interior of the 2026 Changan CS35 Max is radically different as well. There’s a swoopy and sleek dashboard that consists of three displays. A 10.25-inch touchscreen is standard, while a 7-inch digital gauge cluster is fitted in the Lite or a 12.3-inch version for the Luxe. The third display is located on the left of the dashboard, and it features secondary controls for the driver.
As for the rest of the interior, the Changan CS35 Max uses premium soft-touch materials with fabric or leather upholstery in the case of the Luxe. The Luxe also gets a power-adjustable driver’s seat and a 6-speaker Sony sound system, rear air conditioning vents, wireless charging, LED reading lights, and a panoramic sunroof. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and USB are standard for both Lite and Luxe, though.
Under the hood of the 2026 Changan CS35 Max is a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder that produces 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. This powers the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Lastly, all CS35 Max variants feature a complete list of safety features, such as a plethora of airbags, traction and stability control, and a reverse camera, just to name a few. The Luxe gets additional safety features such as the 540-degree camera, a drive recorder, adaptive cruise control, and curtain airbags.
The 2026 Changan CS35 Max is now on sale for P1,109,999 for the Lite and P1,199,999 for the Luxe. Three colors are available: White, Interstellar Gray, and Black.
