LOOK: Upcoming Facelift For Honda City Leaks Ahead Of May 22 Launch

Someone has leaked the upcoming second facelift of the Honda City. The update sedan will be fully revealed on May 22.

It seems Honda is extending the life cycle of the city subcompact sedan as they are set to introduce a second facelift. Usually, Honda would already have fully redesigned a vehicle within five or six years, but it seems the brand is going for a new product life cycle with its vehicles.

Nevertheless, here’s what you can expect from the updated City based on this leaked photo, which comes courtesy of a Twitter/X account that goes by the name of @akbars600, and we can see that the popular subcompact sedan is getting quite an extensive facelift. The new front end somehow reminds us of a combination of the previous 10th-generation Civic and the current Elantra. The LED headlights are slimmer, and they merge neatly into the slim, wide mesh grille. The front bumper also sees a redesign, featuring two lines that visually connect the foglight housing to the lower air intake.

The side profile is largely obscured, though upon first inspection in these leaked photos, it looks pretty much unchanged. There is, however, a set of new wheels. The rear end is even more obscured, so it’s hard to tell if there’s anything new in that part of the vehicle.

We also don’t know if anything’s new inside the City, but based on the tablet-style screen sticking out of the dashboard, the City may be getting a larger screen to replace the existing 8-inch unit. That would likely mean a redesigned dash as well to accommodate the larger screen.

Powertrain options are likely to remain unchanged as well, though nothing has been confirmed at this point. A 120-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder is likely to still be offered, while other markets get a 1.5-liter e:HEV hybrid system or a 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine.

The new Honda City is reportedly going to be revealed on May 22 in India. Once it arrives in Thailand, you can guarantee that it’s going to arrive in the Philippines very soon.
