Dongfeng Motors Philippines officially launches the new Dongfeng Vigo EV. Positioned as a practical yet innovative electric vehicle, the Vigo EV combines advanced technology, premium comfort, and everyday usability. It reflects Dongfeng’s commitment to making electric mobility more attainable while enhancing convenience, efficiency, and driving enjoyment for modern users.
“The Vigo EV represents our vision of bringing smart, efficient, and accessible electric mobility closer to Filipino customers,” said Mr. Brennan Lim, Deputy CEO of Dongfeng Motors Philippines. “We are proud to introduce a vehicle that combines innovation, practicality, and confidence for everyday driving.”
The new Dongfeng Vigo EV immediately makes a strong first impression with its monolithic-like design, which is characterized by wide expanses of metal sections that are combined with rugged elements. At the front, this vehicle features L-shaped LED headlights and an enclosed front end. At the sides, the angular wheel arches help in setting the Vigo EV apart from its more curvaceous rivals. The wing mirrors also have a thinly designed mount, which makes for an interesting design motif. Geometric alloy wheels, along with a block rear end, complete the striking design of this electric crossover SUV.
Inside, there’s a strong sense of rugged minimalism with its horizontal dash layout that’s made out of hard-wearing materials that are also soft to the touch. There’s an 8.88-inch digital gauge cluster, a 12.8-inch main infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay (no Android Auto), along with a wireless charging pad.
Adding color to the interior is its 128-color LED ambient lighting. The steering and seats are also wrapped in durable synthetic leather upholstery. Lastly, one of its highlights is its split tailgate design, which is great for sitting during tailgate parties or just simply hanging around.
Providing power to the Dongfeng Vigo EV is a front-wheel drive (FWD) electric motor that produces 163 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. Thanks to a 51 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, it has a 340-kilometer WLTP-rated range. The Vigo EV supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 154 kW, which is good for adding 114 kilometers to its range in a five-minute charge. The Vigo EV also features Nap and Camp modes, which allow the prolonged use of the in-vehicle features when parked.
The new Dongfeng Vigo EV also has a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, ranging from adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, and a 360-degree camera system, just to name a few.
