BYD Atto 2 DM-i Plug-In Hybrid Makes Public Appearace At SM City Clark

BYD Cars Philippines gave us a preview of the Atto 2 at the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, but that was the full-electric version. Today, however, the rapidly growing electrified brand is showcasing the plug-in hybrid or DM-i version, thus making this the first time that BYD has revealed the Atto 2 DM-i.

Set to become the most affordable plug-in hybrid crossover SUV in the Philippines, the BYD Atto 2 DM-i is once again aiming to be a disruptor like all other models that the brand has launched. The Atto 2 DM-i sits below the Sealion 5 DM-i, and it measures 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,675 mm high. Size-wise, it’s a direct competitor to the Toyota Yaris Cross, Honda HR-V, and Kia Seltos, albeit with either a full electric or plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

Though the Atto 2 DM-i is not yet being launched, filings in the Department of Energy’s recognized electric vehicles (EVs) reveal that the Philippine-spec model has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder and a front-mounted electric motor, which has a total system output of 165 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque. Thanks to a 7.9 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) BYD Blade battery, it has a 45-kilometer pure electric range. Meanwhile, its total driving range is 1,045 kilometers.

Two variants of the BYD Atto 2 DM-i will also be sold: Dynamic and Premium. And while we wait for pricing, you can check the vehicle out at the BYD Tech Tour at SM City Clark today until Sunday, June 21.

Visitors can explore static display units of the brand’s bestsellers, including the Seagull, the Sealion 6 DM-i, Seal 5 DM-i, Sealion 5 DM-i, Tang DM-i, and the newly launched Sealion 7.
