AutoExe, which is Mazda’s tuning brand, has developed parts for the new-generation CX-5. If you’re planning to buy the 2027 Mazda CX-5 but want an added dose of functional style, these AutoExe parts may be up your alley.
Tasteful And Sporty
On display at the recent 2026 Mazda Fan Festa at Fuji Speedway is what’s called the Street Sports kit (codename KM-07). The Street Sports kit builds upon the current CX-5’s functional sportiness that was achieved through its evolved Kodo Design. AutoExe calls this kit a “special street vest”, and it is designed to seamlessly blend with the CX-5’s design theme of “Wearable Gear”.
At first inspection, the styling kit is well-designed. The foundational elements like the front under spoiler and side under spoiler blend well with the design. The kit is designed to simply fit into the CX-5’s existing body panels, which gives a seamless look. The rear bumper also exudes a similar effect–sporty but not too aggressive. Its mesh-patterned bumper provides the look of a discreet rear diffuser. Overall, it looks tastefully done, and it’s one that I would personally get if I were in the market for a CX-5.
Also accentuating the Street Sports kit is the sporty side visor, though I’m not too big of a fan of these. There’s also a door handle cover and protector set that’s finished in a carbon fiber look if you want the handles to be free from scratches. As for the interior, the carbon fiber paddles and the gear shifter knob aren’t exclusive to the CX-5. These are parts that already exist in AutoExe’s catalog, but have been simply fitted to its newly designed interior. All of these parts can be purchased à la carte or as a full package.
Functional Ruggedness
The appeal of the “Wearable Gear” design concept works well for the CX-5 because this crossover SUV has been given a dose of ruggedness that broadens this crossover’s appeal. Though it wasn’t on display at AutoExe’s booth at the 2026 Mazda Fan Festa at Fuji Speedway, the tuning brand has official photos of the Active Xross styling kit, which offers even more comprehensive changes.
Whereas the Street Sports kit enhances the front bumper, Active Xross almost transforms it. It now replaces the prominent mesh-style lower front intake with a more angular shape and rectangular LED fog lights. This kit also gives it the effect of a rugged skid plate, though this is just purely aesthetic.
Meanwhile, at the vehicle’s side profile, the overfenders can be finished in matte or gloss black. If you want to make it look even more rugged, you can opt for the dummy bolt set, which adds silver bolt-like designs to make those fenders even more rugged. Since the aim of this kit is to enhance its rugged appeal, it doesn’t have a side under spoiler or rear skirt.
Now, to make the rear fascia match the front, a silver rear under garnish gives off that faux silver skid plate look. Complete the rugged look by opting for the mud flap set, which can either be in red or black.
Other styling bits of the Active Xross include a rear tailgate garnish, though this looks a bit over the top in my opinion. If the look is your jam, the hood and side decal set could be worth a look. Finally, the same sports side visor and door handle protector set is also available in the Active Xross kit.
AutoExe has not yet fully finalized the CX-5’s performance parts. Though a strut bar, suspension components, and a quad exhaust system have been featured in the vehicle on display, these are not yet officially on sale. The performance parts catalog for the CX-5, though, is near its final development stages as the brand aims to offer these in Japan this fall.
Mazda Philippines has not yet confirmed which parts will be offered, but it is coming, and some parts may be on an indent order basis. For now, heck out these photos of the two AutoExe styling kits for the CX-5 and see which of them fits your style. Do you want a rugged CX-5, or do you prefer to enhance its sporty appeal?
