The 2027 Honda City marks the second facelift for this generation. It gets sharper looks and more features, but still no hybrid in sight.

Honda Cars Philippines has just brought in the updated City, marking the second time the popular subcompact sedan and hatchback has received a facelift. The new Honda City debuts with fresh looks and improved tech to keep it competitive amidst stiffer and electrified competition.

For this second facelift, the updated Honda City gets new LED headlights, which are connected by a full-width LED light bar for the RS variant. The Honda logo has been redesigned as a 2D graphic and placed on top of the front grille. Below the new grille and lighting elements is a redesigned lower air intake that connects to the triangular side air intake housings on the RS. Moving to the rear fascia, the bumper has been likewise redesigned to match the front, while the RS variant gets a new set of clear-lens LED taillights. Meanwhile, lower trims get a slightly different and less edgy front bumper and slightly different alloy wheels.

As for the interior, the overall dashboard architecture has been retained, though there have been a few trim changes. The RS variant still gets several red stitching details inside, and this is matched with gloss black decorative trim with a 3D pattern, along with a larger 10-inch touchscreen that, in my opinion, could have been more elegantly integrated into the dash design. Lower variants continue to feature an 8-inch touchscreen, but whichever touchscreen size, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.

For the hatchback, the ULTR seats continue to be its main selling point, giving it plenty of flexibility in terms of cargo carrying and interior space utilization. The same updates apply to the City hatchback as well, which continues to be sold exclusively in RS trim.

Still fitted as standard on all but the base E variant, which is making its return as a variant specific for fleet purchases, is the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. Honda Sensing in the new City includes Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Auto High Beam (AHB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW). New for this update is the LaneWatch blind spot camera, which is specific to the RS variant.

Fitted to all versions of the new Honda City is a familiar 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine that still produces 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. This sends power to the front wheels via a CVT.

Pricing for the 2027 Honda City starts at P998,000 for the S, while the mid-spec V costs P1,083,000. These prices are the same as before, but the RS gets an increase of P40,000, now at P1,178,000. Meanwhile, the hatchback in sole RS variant costs P1,238,000, likewise a P40,000 increase from before. The City also comes with a longer five-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty for this update as well.
