2027 Nissan Navara Pro Plug-In Hybrid Now On Sale In PH With P2.498 Base Price

The 2027 Nissan Navara Pro Plug-In Hybrid is now officially on sale in the Philippines today with a base price of P2,498,000.

After being previewed at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), the 2027 Nissan Navara Pro PHEV is finally on sale in our market. As a key rival to the BYD Shark 6 DMO, the Navara Pro PHEV takes a unique mechanical approach to developing its plug-in hybrid pickup.

First things first, the 2027 Nissan Navara Pro uses a body-on-frame platform. Measuring 5,494 mm long, it is incrementally longer than the Shark 6 DMO, making it one of the longest midsize pickups. It has 232 mm of ground clearance, aided by retractable step boards. Nissan takes pride in how it integrated the 20 kWh lithium-ion NMC battery pack, which stands at a ground clearance of 695 mm, clearly avoiding any obstacles when going off-road.

Speaking of which, it has a four-wheel drive (4WD) system with a mechanical rear locking differential. The 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and electric motor combination produces a combined output of 435 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This is hooked up to a four-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), and surprisingly, based on my driving experience with this car, it does provide actual gear shifts for a more linear power delivery.

The handling of this pickup is also surprisingly athletic. I wouldn’t call it as fun and as sporty as a Ford Ranger Raptor V6, but it is certainly a lot more fun than I expected in a PHEV pickup. It uses double wishbone suspension at the front, while the multi-link rear suspension ensures that it offers the best ride quality possible for a pickup. With a payload capacity of 865 kg, the Navara Pro has a slightly lower payload than diesel pickups, but it is higher than the 800 kilos of the Shark 6 DMO.

Lastly, that 20 kWh (33 kWh gross) lithium-ion NMC battery pack is good enough for an NEDC-rated range of 131 kilometers, while it has a total driving range of 1,050 kilometers. The battery can be charged via AC only, in which at its most powerful output makes it possible to charge the Navara Pro from 20 to 100 percent in three hours.

As for its design, the 2027 Nissan Navara Pro PHEV features an enclosed front fascia to highlight its electrified nature. The Navara Pro PHEV builds on 90 years of Nissan’s pickup heritage, embodied in a more modern design. The design harks back to the legendary D21 Hardbody, whilst giving it a futuristic twist with its full-width LED light bar that connects the main vertical LED headlights. Speaking of lighting elements, there are amber lights on the wheel arches, along with an illuminated Nissan logo at the front.

The side profile goes for a more straightforward but futuristic look, especially one that’s been enabled by its deployable step boards. The C-pillar has a distinct window kink, giving the Navara Pro its own unique side profile signature. Lastly, the rear end mirrors the lighting elements of the front fascia through futuristic full-width LED taillights with an illuminated Nissan wordmark. There are numerous powered features at the back as well, wherein the powered tailgate works in conjunction with the rear powered stepboard for easy access to the bed. Even the tonneau cover is power-operated for maximum convenience.

Moving inside the 2027 Nissan Navara Pro PHEV, you’ll be greeted by an interior that’s very futuristic and punches above the class in terms of premium feel. There’s a generous amount of soft-touch materials and textured plastic panels, which is refreshing to see instead of the usual gloss black plastics. Drivers are greeted by a digital gauge cluster, while a 14.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is where most vehicle controls are accessed. There’s also a Focal sound system to provide you with aural listening pleasure.

Despite the tech-forward cabin, I was happy to see a good amount of physical controls, including for the climate control functions. There’s also power adjustment for the driver’s seat, along with heating and cooling for both front seats. Meanwhile, those at the back are treated to one of the best rear seat spaces for a midsize pickup. They’ll also appreciate the USB-A and USB-C charging ports and the aircon vents, though there is no center armrest.

The 2027 Nissan Navara Pro PHEV is now on sale in the Philippines for P2,498,000 for the LE and P2,698,000 for the VL that we’ve been showcasing here. For a limited time, the Navara Pro PHEV comes with a special P50,000 introductory discount.
