Toyota has launched to the public the all-new, all-affordable Toyota Wigo, a Toyota that was designed to be the perfect first car to first time car buyers.
Also known as the Toyota Agya in Indonesia, the Toyota Wigo is a result of Indonesia’s Low Cost Green Car Program. It is designed so that it would be affordable to buy and very affordable to run.
Despite its entry-level price, quality, size, and credibilities, the Toyota Wigo is equipped with features expected from a vehicle at a class above. The top trim G comes equipped with a 2DIN touch screen media system with GPS, DVD, and USB, keyless entry and immobilizer, ABS, power windows, and dual side airbags.
Powering the Toyota Wigo is an engine that wasn’t designed for drag racing. Rather, it was designed to be frugal. It is a 1.0 liter 1KR-FE 3-cylinder engine that makes 64 hp and 85 Nm of torque. It is mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic, with the base model 1.0 E exclusively mated to a 5-speed manual.
Now, for the price. Of course, being the most affordable Toyota should mean it is the cheapest Toyota in their line-up, and if that’s what you’re thinking, then you’re definitely right.
1.0 G 4-AT – P534,000
1.0 G 5-MT – P499,000
1.0 E 5-MT – P448,000
