Volvo Philippines Introduces The S60 D4 Diesel

Volvo isn’t really a huge performer in our market, especially when you compare it with its German rivals and Lexus, selling not even half of what each of them sell in a year, and yet, it’s a shame, since Volvo really makes really nice and safe luxury cars. If this new Volvo S60 D4 Diesel doesn’t bring their brand up in the Philippines, then I don’t know what will, because this new Volvo S60 D4 is currently one of the most competitively priced compact luxury sedans in our market.

The Volvo S60 D4 is powered by a 2.0 liter Drive-E twin-turbocharged diesel engine, producing 181 hp and a stratospheric 400 Nm of torque. A combined 24.4 km/l fuel consumption can easily be achieved, thanks to the 8-Speed automatic transmission and engine start/stop technology. Despite the green credentials, the S60 D4 is no slouch, sprinting from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

Being a Volvo means that this S60 isn’t short of any safety features. Standard features include Volvo’s CitySafety, which detects obstacles, including people, and automatically applies the brakes if you fail to react to the oncoming danger.

The price of all this Swedish goodness? A very competitive P2,495,000, low enough to even think of buying the BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Audi A3, or the Lexus CT, heck even the V6-powered high trim models of Japanese midsize sedans, and because of all this things, the Volvo S60 doesn’t deserve to be ignored.
