Rolls-Royce Philippines just recently inaugurated its permanent dealership in Bonifacio Globla City, and the motor car brand from Goodwood used this opportunity to launch the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.
The Rolls-Royce Ghost is the brand’s entry level luxury car, but it doesn’t mean it is accessible to everyone. Priced at no less than P31.5 million for the standard wheelbase model and P35 million for the long wheelbase model, the Rolls-Royce Ghost remains to be an exclusive luxury. It may be based from the same platform as the BMW 7 Series, but the Ghost maintains its reputation as one of the best riding cars in the world. Because it is based on the 7 Series, it does offer a certain degree of sporty handling, and Rolls-Royce further strengthened the Ghost’s image as a more dynamic Rolls-Royce than the Phantom by making details such as the Spirit of Ecstasy angled more forward to bring a sense of dynamism. Other changes from the pre-facelift model include a new pair of full LED headlamps with LED daytime running lights.
Inside, the full-grain leather from the Phantom has been further processed in order to create the texture and scent that is unmistakably Rolls-Royce. As expected at this price point, fine wood ornaments and metal trimmings are abundant, and while the Rolls-Royce Ghost is already known for its quiet ride, additional sound insulation has been added, because, heck why not?
Powering the Rolls-Royce Ghost is a twin-turbo 6.6 liter V12 engine, producing a mighty 563 hp and 780 Nm of torque, enough to haul this 2 tonne luxury car in less than 6 seconds. The engine, while powerful, isn’t tuned for sporty driving, but rather, it is tuned for overtaking less important cars without any fuss and drama.
