Suzuki has progressively teased this car to the public. After multiple teaser advertisements around the Metro, and a mall display that was held a couple of weeks ago at Market Market, Suzuki Philippines has finally launched the all-new Celerio.
Let’s face it, this segment isn’t exactly the industry’s most exciting, so bear with us for a moment as your read this. The new Suzuki Celerio is instantly recognizable as a new car from the brand. The design is all-new, though rather conservative than the design it replaces. While it may seem conservative, upon closer inspection, the Celerio has a more mature and more grown up design, which is a polar opposite of the more youthful design the previous generation has focused.
Inside, Suzuki worked hard to make the interior look classier. In this segment of vehicles, there’s really no denying that the interiors of these cars aren’t premium at all, so thankfully Suzuki has managed to make the interior feel more special compared to its rivals such as the Toyota Wigo and Hyundai Eon. Suzuki also claims increased interior space all around, with the boot now capable of carrying 254 liters of cargo.
Powering the Suzuki Celerio is a 1.0 liter three cylinder petrol engine, producing a fire breathing 67 hp and 90 Nm of torque. Duh! I’m kidding. Of course these aren’t exactly powerful figures, but rather, these are adequate figures for the kind of car it is. Power is transferred through either a 5-Speed Manual or a CVT.
There’s only one variant, so there’s no need to fuss about which variant to choose from. The basic safety features such as airbags, ABS, and basic entertainment features such as an auxiliary and USB port, are fitted as standard.
Here are the prices of the all-new Suzuki Celerio
Celerio MT: P507,000
Celerio CVT: P542,000
