Mitsubishi New MPV Willl Be Called “Xpander”, Brochures Leaked

Don't buy that Mitsubishi Adventure yet.

The internet is certainly an interesting place to be, and if you’re in a market for a new entry-level MPV, you’re in luck. The new Mitsubishi Next Generation MPV’s brochure has been leaked, spilling out all the details before its global reveal at the 2017 Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto Show in August 10.

Otospirit has revealed to the internet people the brochure of Mitsubishi’s Next Generation MPV, and we can finally confirm it’s going to be called the “Xpander”. The Mitsubishi Xpander will feature LED daytime running lights up front, with the LEDs being flanked at the sides of the grille, while the headlamps are separated, just as we have reported earlier. It rides on 16-inch two tone alloy wheels, with a generous SUV-like ground clearance of 205 mm. Its dimensions are on par with the competition, measuring 4,475 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, and 1,700 mm tall.

Inside, it seems that the Xpander will have an all-black interior option, apart from the two-tone interior revealed by the three-diamonds brand. Based on the blurred shots, there seems to be an assortment of cubby spaces, keyless entry with push button start, a touch screen infotainment system, a TFT LCD screen sandwiched by two high contrast LED-lit gauges, 60:40 split folding second row seats, and a 50:50 split folding third row seats.

It will be powered by a modified version of Mitsubishi’s 4G91 4-cylinder 1.5 liter petrol engine that produces 103 hp and 141 Nm of torque, confirming past leaks. Also confirming past leaks are the transmission options. A 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic, too bad, as we think a CVT should’ve been at least a higher-end option, since the Honda Mobilio’s powertrain is world’s apart from the competition thanks to its CVT.
