We reported a week ago that Honda has reportedly started sending invites to different media regarding the launch of the all-new, 7-seater diesel Honda CR-V. Well, we finally have confirmation that the new CR-V is indeed arriving, 7 days from now as of today’s posting.
The Honda CR-V will be offered with two engines. We’re not sure if it’ll be the 2.0 i-VTEC, 2.4 i-VTEC, or the 1.5 VTEC Turbo engine seen in the Civic RS. What we do know is that, the petrol engine will be the base engine while the diesel will be the highest engine variant. The diesel, meanwhile, is all-new for Asia, as this 1.6 i-DTEC has been offered in Europe since 2016. The diesel mill produces 160 hp @ 4,000 rpm, and gorque figures at 350 Nm @ 2,000 rpm. Mighty figures for a tiny diesel engine.
The headlining diesel CR-V is will arrive a bit late over the petrol powered CR-V. The petrol CR-V, meanwhile, will arrive by September. Reservations will start once the new CR-V has been launched by next week.
