2018 Ford Expedition Makes A Big Statement At Manila

The new Expedition features an aluminum body and greater driving pleasure.

Ford Philippines launched at the 2018 Manila International Auto Show the all-new Expedition full-size SUV featuring a bold and robust new design, improved performance, and a collection of best-in-class luxury features.

The Ford Expedition, which now has an aluminum body, manages to be 136 kg lighter than its predecessor. It also promises to offer an even superior driving experience, thanks to its innovative changes in its transmission, fuel consumption, frame, body, and driver-assist technologies.

“The all-new Expedition delivers an even more luxurious drive, with a suite of new features and power that will provide our customers with more control, while ensuring their families are safe on the road,” said Rodel Gallega, vice president, Marketing and Sales, Ford Philippines.

The new Expedition strikes a new design with an all-new look. It has a raised power dome hood, which contributes to the Expedition’s tall and bold stance. The grille cleanly merges with the SUV’s headlamps, which in turn results in a clean and cohesive look for the Expedition’s front end. At the side, chrome detailing om the door handles, roof racks, and the 20-inch ultra bright machined aluminum wheels with tarnished dark-painted pockets all work together to complement the Expedition’s bold design. Power deployable step boards provide a clean, uninterrupted look when the doors are closed. Towards the rear, the Expedition features an accent trim that indicates the Expedition model name, which are then flanked by LED tail lights.

On the inside, the Expedition strikes a balance between comfort and utility. The panoramic vista roof floods the interior with light, which highlights the SUV’s well appointed interior. Ford’s SYNC3 infotainment system takes center stage, offering built-in navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Furthermore, the Ford Expedition features a B&O Play premium audio system with 12 speakers with HD radio technology. Additionally, the Expedition features an advanced Cargo Management System, allowing users to stow items inside their vehicle securely. This is enhanced by the convenience provided by the hands-free, foot-activated power lift gate with height adjustment and rear flip glass.

The Expedition is powered by a 3.5 liter EcoBoost V6 petrol engine, producing 375 hp and 637 Nm of torque, which makes this the most powerful Expedition to date. Power is sent through a 4WD system with Terrain Management System, via a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission.

Elsewhere, the Expedition features the latest driver safety and convenience features that include Hill Descent Control, Hill Start Assist, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with trailer coverage and cross-traffic alert, Forward Sensing System, Reverse Sensing System, and Traction Control, among others.

The Ford Expedition is available in two variants with the following prices.

  • 4WD Limited MAX (with bucket seats): P4,358,000
  • 4WD Limited MAX: P4,258,000
