The All-New Suzuki Jimny Is A Charming Little Capable Off-Roader

It's still small, but it's capabilities defy its cute size.

Suzuki has revealed the Jimny after numerous leaks of the much awaited small SUV. As from what we now know, the Jimny will be sold in two flavors in Japan, the Jimny, and the Jimny Sierra, which is differentiated from its wide fender flares, unpainted bumpers, and a bigger 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. This version will also be the one that will be sold outside Japan.

Rather than taking on a completely modern approach, Suzuki has given it a completely retro and boxy design, which gives it an impression that it looks like a mini Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Up front, it features a front grille with five slats, as well as unpainted beefy bumpers and fender flares for the Sierra variant.

Inside, the Suzuki Jimny embraces its utilitarian roots by giving it a durable interior ambience. Though hard plastics fill the cabin, this is crucial if the Suzuki Jimny aims to be an invincible off-roading machine. A 7-inch infotainment system is available, as well as automatic climate control and other modern amenities.

Details are scarce at the moment, and the only detail we currently know is that, the Suzuki Jimny will either have a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. Power will be sent through a part time 4WD system. Just like all generations of the Suzuki Jimny, it will ride on a ladder frame chassis for excellent off-road capability.

Stay tuned to Go Flat Out as we update this once we receive more information.
