The Mercedes-Benz GLC Is The Perfect Luxury SUV For An Outdoor Adventure

The event aims to showcase the superior capabilities of Mercedes-Benz SUVs, particularly the GLC, which will be the hero car of the entire drive. Experiencing how the GLC 200 is also an ideal adventure companion so we’ve went through a number of exciting activities you’ll be seeing later on.

The term hungry for adventure is a regional effort by Mercedes-Benz that intends to showcase the performance and class-leading features that make Mercedes-Benz SUV’s the ideal road companion in any adventure.

Following the huge success of the Hungry For Adventure regional ride and drive events held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia in 2016 and 2017, which included rock climbing, rappelling, trekking, and river rafting, Mercedes-Benz has taken this year’s drive to a whole new level by holding the event in the Philippines for the first time in Cavite.

Drivers and passengers will find that Mercedes-Benz SUV’s are not just luxurious, but highly reliable and versatile as well- from it’s safety features and multiple drive modes to the spacious cabin and abundant luggage compartment. These, and a whole suite of other features, are sure to meet the needs of every adventure.

Mercedes-Benz Philippines has joyfully invited us for a fun filled 2-day activity showcasing the GLC with adrenaline pumping activities where we conquer AIR, WATER, and LAND such as Tandem Paragliding, which was a bit nerve-wrecking. It was 5-10 minutes of pure bliss. Afterwards, we land on an open field where we could test the GLC’s off-road capabilities. One of the highlights of the GLC where the participants can test drive the GLA, GLC and GLE on an off-road course to experience ride comfort, performance, and driving modes of these Mercedes-Benz SUVs.

As part of the commitment of Mercedes-Benz to environmental sustainability, a tree-planting activity was held wherein participants will plant Mahogany seedlings. Each participant was also given a signage where they can sign their name which serves as a marker or nameplate for the tree.

Given a chance to conquer Water, we head over to Taal Volcano where we had to ride a boat in-order to trek the crater of Taal.

Mercedes-Benz GLC

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is a compact crossover SUV that possesses everything that you’re looking for in a luxury SUV: comfort, luxury, performance, cutting-edge technology, and impeccable design. Thus, setting the standard for the midsize SUV segment.

Before even setting foot into the GLC, it’s muscular profile and athletic lines stand out and excite the senses. The GLC sports a modern off-road look with urban designs. The clear, smooth lines, and distinct contours give the GLC it’s sporty yet elegant aesthetics.

Aside from ample cargo space, the GLC’s interior simply amazes. The GLC is equipped with an infotainment system powered by a touchpad which gives you easier access to your multimedia files. It also empowers you to connect to your mobile device through bluetooth and enables you to to do just about everything.

The ambient lighting equipped is set to the right mood for both driver and passenger. The interior also provides generous legroom in the rear seats which can be split folded to accommodate more cargo space if need be.

Just like any other Mercedes-Benz vehicle, the GLC is filled with safety features and driver-assist technologies which include active parking assist, adaptive brake lights, attention assist, and airbag deployment including side airbags and window bags for the driver and passenger.

Our unit assigned to us was the GLC 220d 4MATIC AMG which displaces 170 hp from the 2.1-liter inline-4 turbo diesel engine with a whopping 400 Nm of torque, with power sent through a 4MATIC AWD system via a 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. Distinguishing the GLC 220d from its entry-level GLC 200 sibling is its AMG Line exterior package.

The GLC 200, meanwhile, serves as the entry level variant of the range. Power comes from a inline-4 petrol engine with 9G- TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine has an output of 184hp and a torque of 300Nm.
