2018 PIMS: Second Generation BMW X4 Arrives In Manila

The second generation BMW X4 continues the success story of the brand's SUV with coupe traits.

SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMCACDC), the exclusive importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, has formally launched the all-new, second generation BMW X4, alongside the first-ever BMW 6 Series GranTurismo.

The all-new BMW X4 is larger yet lighter than its predecessor. It also has a lower center of gravity and as ever with all BMWs, a perfect 50/50 weight distribution for that trademark BMW agility. Making itself known for its dynamic and sporting characters is its dynamic and striking design with its sleek, aggressively sloping roofline, and chiselled front end that makes the BMW X4 look more aggressive and ready to attack. A “three-dmensional” kidney grille and hexagonal foglamps highlight the X4’s sporting and rugged character. LED headlights flank the kidney grille, which come as standard on all X4s, and the rear tailgate has been cleaned up, now with the license plate being moved towards the rear bumper. Larger, bolder LED tail lights round up the X4’s evolutionary design changes.

Inside, the BMW X4 shares its basic architecture with the BMW X3’s, but with a lower dashboard and a higher seating position for a more commanding view up front. The increased exterior dimensions also translate to the interior, with increased legroom for back seat passengers. A driver focused cabin hints at the BMW X4’s intentions as a sporty and dynamic crossover, highlighted by the 10.25-inch BMW iDrive with Navigation System Professional that includes a touch screen and gesture control.

Being the xDrive20d as shown, a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine resides under the hood. It produces 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque, sending power to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

MSRP for this BMW X4 xDrive20d starts at P5,190,000.
