Audi PH Offers Steep Discounts On Its Flagship A8 L

The new Audi A8 L with its 3.0 V6 TFSI mild-hybrid powertrain is among the models included in the Audi Factory Warehouse Sale 2.0. Ongoing until July 31, 2020, the Audi Factory Warehouse Sale 2.0 offers significant price reductions on all Audi models, made possible through the special support extended by Audi AG. Select models are discounted by more than P1,000,000, and yes that includes the Audi A8 L. 

The A8 L 3.0 TFSI MHEV’s predictive active suspension is fully dynamic, relying on electromechanical actuators to adjust its settings. These can lift or lower each of the vehicle’s wheels individually to actively manage ride height in every situation. Using a camera located at the front of the car, the system identifies uneven surfaces before these are reached, and predictively regulates the active suspension.

Included in the predictive active suspension settings are “dynamic” and “comfort plus” which control the car’s air suspension and the Audi drive select dynamic handling system. In “dynamic” the A8 L becomes a sports car as it turns in firmly when cornering fast. In “comfort plus” the profile lets the luxury sedan glide over any surface, with the driver and passengers barely noticing the car is cornering.

Predictive active suspension even works when the car is at a standstill. When the A8 L’s door handle is pulled, the body quickly rises to make entry and exit into the car easier. The predictive active suspension, when combined with Audi’s “pre-sense 360°” advanced driver-assist system,  raises the body on either side to absorb the energy when the A8 L detects an impending side collision.

Another highlight feature of the A8 L is its interior, which resembles a spacious lounge with minimal forms elegantly outlined by ambient lighting. Also available is the Rear Seat Entertainment system comprised of two Audi tablets and the Rear Seat Remote. With these, passengers can enjoy watching movies on sites like Netflix, browse the Internet and access other apps. The Audi Cool Box in the rear seat pampers passengers even more by keeping drinks chilled.

At the center of the Audi A8 L’s instrument panel is a 10.1-inch MMI Touch infotainment system. A second touchscreen display on the console of the center tunnel allows access to climate control and convenience features, including the ability to enter texts through handwriting recognition. Also, MMI Navigation plus serves as a media center that generates graphics in full HD resolution for the Audi virtual cockpit. 

The new Audi A8 L is equipped with a mild-hybrid system composed of a belt alternator starter (BAS) and a lithium-ion battery with 10 Ah electrical capacity. This allows the car to coast at speeds between 55 kph and 160 kph with the engine switched off for up to 40 seconds. As soon as the driver steps on the throttle pedal again, the BAS prompts a swift, smooth restart. A new 48-volt system that functions as the main vehicle electrical system offers a high recuperation power of up to 12 kW plus start-stop operation from 22 km/h, reducing fuel consumption. 

The new Audi A8 L’s engine operates in conjunction with a quick but gently shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. Audi’s Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system with self-locking center differential comes as standard.
