Just as the company recently celebrated 20,000 unit sales of the Bentley Bentayga, the British ultra-luxury automaker has just unveiled the facelifted version of its best-selling model. The new Bentayga gains an updated exterior design, a more luxurious interior, along with more technology.
The exterior design of the Bentley Bentayga has been slightly revised to bring it more in line with the rest of the newer Bentley models. Most of the design tweaks were inspired by the latest Continental GT and Flying Spur, which includes the new oval-shaped LED head and taillights, new front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs. The wipers have also been upgraded to include 22 washer jets embedded in the wiper blades.
Interior changes are quite noticeable too, as the Bentley Bentayga gains a new fully-digital instrument cluster and a larger 10.9-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There’s also a new steering wheel from the Continental GT and Flying Spur. Customers can opt for these new luxurious interior trims, which include Koa, Crown Cut Walnut, as well as a dark tint diamond brushed aluminum.
Engine options for the Bentley Bentayga remain unchanged, though the V8 petrol will be the first model to go on sale. The 4.0-liter V8 continues to produce 542 hp and 770 Nm of torque. The top-of-the-line Bentayga Speed, which is the world’s fastest SUV, will still use a twin-turbo W12 engine that produces 626 hp and 900 Nm of torque. The plug-in hybrid, meanwhile, will still continue to utilize a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 petrol engine mated to an electric motor, and it has a total system output of 456 hp and 700 Nm. Its pure electric range is pegged at 51 kilometers. Lastly, the V8 diesel will still produce 429 hp and 900 Nm of torque. All engine options are mated to an 8-speed automatic and a permanent AWD system.
