Kia Philippines has been teasing its Stonic small SUV for quite a while now, and the latest news coming from the Ayala-backed South Korean automaker is its competitive pricing. But before we get to the price, let’s talk about some of the specs of the 2021 Kia Stonic first.
The 2021 Kia Stonic will be available in three variants: LX MT, LX AT, and EX AT. As far as exterior features go, the Kia Stonic top-trim EX will feature two-tone paint, along with projector halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights. As mentioned in our previous article, the Kia Stonic will be coming from China. As such, the exterior design is slightly different from what is being offered for the rest of the world. Regardless of its origins, the Kia Stonic’s design has been awarded by a number of publications and award-giving bodies around the world. This includes awards from iF Design and Red Dot Design Awards in 2018.
As for interior features, it looks like all variants will be equipped with an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. On top of this, there will be reverse sensors, hill start assist, electronic stability control for the EX variant.
Powering the 2021 Kia Stonic will be a 1.4-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 95 hp for the LX MT and 100 hp for the LX AT and EX AT. The LX MT gets a 5-speed manual transmission while the LX AT and EX AT gets a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Kia Philippines also says that the Kia Stonic will be offered with a five-year or 160,000-km warranty, as well as 24/7 Roadside Assistance free for five years! Kia’s Roadside Assistance includes Emergency Towing, Personal Assistance, Minor Onsite Repair, Medical Assistance, and Information Service.
Now, as for its prices, we’re genuinely surprised at how affordable Kia’s latest offering will be. The base LX MT will start at just P735,000, while the automatic LX variant will start at P835,000. Lastly, the top-of-the-line EX AT will not breach the P1 million mark as it will be priced at P925,000. On top of this, Kia Philippines is offering a pre-launch discount worth P50,000 for the EX AT and LX AT, while the LX MT gets an even more generous P60,000 discount.
“We are excited to present to you the all-new 2021 Kia Stonic. It’s a vehicle for those looking for something hip and stylish yet likewise want to get the value-for-money proposition that this crossover offers,” says Manny Aligada, Kia Philippines’ President.
