Kia PH Now Has 5 Times More Spare Parts, Lower Cost Of Ownership

Spare parts availability and cost of ownership are two less things to worry about when considering a brand-new Kia vehicle.

Kia Philippines announced the company’sĀ plans for 2021 during its roundtable discussion with the media. Apart from announcing what new cars are set to arrive this year, the Ayala-backed South Korean automaker also announced its improvements in the field of after sales.

Spare parts availability is a huge factor among Filipino car buyers, and this is one area that Kia Philippines was able to significantly improve. As a matter of fact, the company’s spare parts inventory has increased by as much as five times versus during the start of 2020. Additionally, through its new partship with DHL, parts from South Korea and China will be delivered to the dealers within 7 days only.

It’s one thing to have more spare parts on hand, but having excellent customer service is another. As a way to improve the brand’s service quality, all of its 300 dealer frontliners have undergone 100 percent skills training and certification. Moreover, Kia Philippines is rolling out its new remote diagnostics service capability. Through this new service, both Kia Philippines and Kia Motors Corporation can examine a car at the dealer in real time and provide expert advise right from the brand’sĀ engineers from South Korea. This should further shorten lead time and resolve any mechanical issues faster.

Lastly, Kia Philippines is able to reduce the cost of maintenance of its vehicles. Mainly contributing to this is the introduction of a new mineral oil from Total. This new mineral oil lets customers save about 40 percent on oil changes. Kia Philippines also reassures that the new mineral oil will not affect the performance or the maintenance interval of the vehicles, which is still at 6 months or 10,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.

Kia Philippines is also expanding its dealer footprint this 2021, with 2 new locations in Metro Manila, 2 in Luzon, and 1 in Mindanao. This should bring Kia’s total dealer count to 45.

Last year, Kia sold 2,129 units, which represents a 57.6 percent decline. The Soluto remains to be the brand’s best seller, accounting for 38.8 percent of Kia’s overall sales. Unsurprisingly, the affordable and well-equipped Kia Stonic proved to be extremely popular. These improvements that Kia implemented in its aftersales services will also be key to helping the brand achieve triple-digit sales growth and doubling its market share in 2021. Basically, Kia’s goal this year is to achieve the same sales figures it did back to its 2019 prior to when the pandemic struck.
