Motor Image Pilipinas, the official distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, is now teasing the arrival of its upcoming seven-seater SUV called the Evoltis. Subaru’s biggest vehicle to date is destined to arrive this April 12 and should be a formidable competitor to the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Mazda CX-9, Ford Explorer, just to name a few.
At this point, you probably already know that the Evoltis is basically the Ascent three-row midsize crossover SUV sold in North America but with a different name. Design-wise, the Evoltis wears Subaru’s Dynamic x Solid design language, which means it features signature Subaru elements such as the C-shaped LED daytime running lights and a hexagonal front grille. It’s a clean design that, while conservative, looks handsome enough, and will surely age very well.
We can’t officially confirm which variant/s will be brought in, but based on the teaser that hints at its seven-seater arrangement, it’s safe to say that this SUV will be arriving with second-row captain’s chairs since the third-row of seats can accommodate three passengers. In North America, variants with those aforementioned captain’s chairs are the higher trim ones, which means we can safely expect features like a Harman Kardon sound system, power liftgate, tri-zone automatic climate control, just to name a few.
Powering the Subaru Evoltis will be a 2.4-liter horizontally-opposed four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 260 hp and 377 Nm of torque. Power is sent through all four wheels via a CVT.
Of course, the Subaru Evoltis will arrive with the brand’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assist systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. Other advanced rear-facing safety features should also be included such as rear automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
Interested buyers can already pre-register at this microsite by clicking this link. Additionally, the first 50 buyers will receive a limited-edition Evoltis watch. Pricing has not yet been announced, so do stay tuned to Go Flat Out PH for more updates regarding Subaru’s latest vehicle.
